@@BobbyCulpepper.srv3fender That is what He said to certain people in a very certain situation. So…since you believe that is what’s supposed to be done, have you sold all you have and followed Him? He certainly never said to sell everything and follow Him, and while you’re doing that, be super critical of those who have money.

Wow Granger, As you posted this podcast I was writing this question. Is there audio Bible studies online that are (audiobooks?) I'm not a reader and often on the go and working so everything I hear is through audio. Including any sermons I catch. Getting very discouraged. No matter what minister I present to my husband he has a problem with them. I haven't attended his church for over 20 yrs. Had a huge falling out with a minister in that church. I'd had a bad surgery which led to 25 more. The pastor at the time was telling this church he was visiting or making attempts and I wasn't taking his calls or answering the door. He was LYING! This man didn't like one on ones and tried to get out of visitation for anyone that allowed it. We had a sit down with the elders of the church and the minister. He yelled and screamed and put on quite the scene for his audience that day, continuing the lies. He was forced by the church to apologize for his conduct, but never owned up that he was lying and tried to blame me for his actions. In telling you that long story....My husband said...This man's actions wasn't going to keep him from church and said HE was going to continue to go there no matter what. In my eyes that's very unbiblical to not lead your family and that's exactly why his actions soured my now adult children of deepening their faith with God. I want a church family but no matter who I tell the husband I like he has some problems that they are doing this or that and it's worldly and leading people wrongly. How do you so desperately want a relationship with God, don't know everything I should. I should actually start at the beginning and take Sunday School with the small children to learn and understand the Bible. My parents dropped us off at Sunday School and we were told not to come home until lunch. Everything God has some sort of trauma behind it. I've asked God to change my heart several times and lead me...but kinda feeling like He doesn't want me. Could that be his sign? I appreciate your knowledge! Thank you, ~

From what I read, you’re allowing what someone else did determine how you serve God. You’re putting a person between you and God. Read God’s Word (or find an online version that will read it), and allow that Word to help you understand what YOU need to do to be in a right relationship with Him. It’s about you and God. That’s what it’s always been about.

The traits you are describing of your husband's pastor are narsacistic in nature. They can apologize and not mean it. They do only what is required to get by brush over and move past the obstacle you create for them. They never take responsibility for their actions. Another trait is blaming you for what he did or caused That is gaslighting. Narcissist are proficient at this. I speak from experience. I had to simply walk away from a Pastor I spoke into for 10 years after he betrayed me, demeaned and destroyed my testimony from the podium. I was walking out my faith through losing my 26 yr old daughter, father and mother within 12 weeks. The church was watching me. My pastor turned on me and made it my fault because I did not go along when he tried to manipulate me. Prayers for you in this most difficult spot you find yourself in with your husband. May the Lord open his eyes to this controlling so called pastor.
