In fifth grade, we had two guinea pigs as the class pets. One didn't mind being gently picked up, but the other would squeak in anger and scratch with her claws furiously. The only way to really hold her was to have her wrapped in a towel or blanket. Rosa was a cute GP, but boy was she fussy.

My Peruvian doesn't act out that much when I give him baths. He only whines when I cut his hair. But even then, he does have periods of silence. Idk if it's just bc he's a male. But I think he actually appreciates grooming. Kinda funny. I think he laughs on the inside when I try to collect the other ones poo, Whiskers. Whiskers always wants to dump it out & I guess scavenge for the ones he likes. But I won't let him. Axl is usually more vocal tho. So he's prob like dude? Chill. You'll get more actual food later. Just ask. .. but Whiskers is more picky about what he eats. So I guess to him, his poo is more interesting than begging for other snacks. I haven't cut either of their nails tho. I don't think they'll like it. I just don't think they'll be that mean. I predict nibbles. They "groom"/give me "kisses" when I clean their cage out sometimes too. That or walk all over me.

No please don't bath guinea pigs without a vet telling you to do so. It's not natural and simulates drowning for the piggies, and most important, it's not necessary. They take care of their fur very well.

Gernot Gernot It is necessary but very rarely. If their bums are dirty because they sat in pee/poop, you can wash their bum, you can wash their dirty paws. The may need baths every so often but they are rarely needed

Hahahaha this reminds me of one of my abyssinian piggies when I was a kid, Miss Piggy. When she would have to go to vet, Miss Piggy would squeak blood murder if the vet's hands came within a couple of inches from her. There were many times in which other vets and nurses came to the room and asked, "What in the world are you doing to that guinea pig?!"

I've noticed with my piggies that the tamer they are, the less shy they are about "voicing their complaints". My older lady, who's pretty tame, always tries to run off while clipping nails, while my two shy ones just sit still, knowing that it'll be over quicker when I don't have to argue with them.

The peeing is usually in defense to ward off male advances, hence it only happens when you touch her backside. That noise is just complaining about something she doesn't like. She's not angry or attacking at all, just annoyed. I've seen angry pigs and they're terrifying :D ;)
