I had a conversation with my girlfriend tonight about boundaries. I'm 32 and have struggled with lust my entire life. I want this relationship to be different. She is truly the love of my life and worth waiting for! I have a ring and I plan to propose soon. We spend so much time together and a lot of it ends up being one on one at my house or hers, so there is temptation. We can't get married until June and I don't know how I'm going to make it... God has given me a great deal of self-control, and he's faithful to give me more! He's delivered me from pornography completely! Praise God.

Start dating with witnesses. The thing you can learn from the relationship described in Song of Solomon is that the friends of the bride and groom were all quite happy for them to be together. If you don't have Godly friends you can date around it should give you cause for concern

I accidentally stumbled upon different sexual material online before even my teenage years, I ended up falling into porn. The Lord set me free from the addiction but I still struggle with intrusive thoughts despite having had walked away from porn 6 years ago. Thank you for sharing your story, I have had people demean me for being a woman who struggled with these things. For girlies who struggle with intrusive thoughts I have found that as soon as it enters your mind, rebuke it in the name of Jesus. It really does work! ❤

I think losing my virginity at 15 was a mistake. It's not about peer pressure or looking masculine. I can remember how it feels. My body craves that feeling. My lust goes deeper than "I just want to see her naked." I can't talk to any female without getting these thoughts later on. It bothers me that I get these thoughts late at night because it feels like I am sinning, so how am I to get close to God when thinking of women cause me sin? The spirit is strong, but the flesh is weak.

Not many churches will touch this subject in detail. To worried that most of the people would be offended and leave. Alot of the worlds behavior is in the church. Leggings aren't accepted in many work places because it's considered to be naked. But in church it is ok. Something wrong here. When is the church going to stand up on these issues? Many won't. Hi everyone. I also had this conversation with my boyfriend. We’ve been together for almost 3 years (we will be both 20 soon). He is a Christian and as I became a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ in September 2024, I realised I don’t want to be part of any intimacy until I am married. We agreed we won’t sleep together or anything else, but for him, as a guy, it is easier said than done. And as I don’t want to “help” him with it, it’s up on him. But he feels like he’s cheating on me while doing it on his own. He also struggled with porn addiction, from which he has been set free thanks to our Lord. We were thinking about getting married, but for now it would more like how to escape so he wouldn’t have to do it by himself and I don’t want to get married just because of it, although I love him, I would like to marry him some day and we know each other very well. Could you please give me so advice? Because I feel like nobody talks about this in sense like: We’re waiting until marriage. But what the guy is supposed to do during this waiting period? Since he can’t go without it for a year or so

Not sure what you mean by "doing it on his own" and "doing it by himself"... if you're referring to self-pleasure, that is not a necessity... you guys not carrying out the act together and having him "do what he needs to do" on his own, is not the solution... that is devaluing your future experiences together. It is so so so tough, but the way I try to help myself with it is to reassure myself that by doing such things, I am damaging my future self and my partners future self as well for a shallow pleasure that ultimately does me no good. Hope that helps

You should pray for each other to be patient and have self control. Because I understand what you're saying and it's definitely challenging! Is there a preacher or trusted Christian adult you can go to in confidence regarding your relationship? Don't waver on your very wise decision to wait for marriage! You're not going to be sorry. Engaging in sex before marriage does not cause a higher likelihood of divorce. It's correlated with a higher likelihood of divorce. Correlation is not causation. This is a very basic error. Divorce rate and likelihood of premarital sex are both correlated with religiosity. Highly religious people are less likely to divorce and are also less likely to engage in premarital sex.
