@@aar09 so many women worldwide end up in abusive marriages because of this practice. More often than not it seems like the criteria for choosing marriage partners has little to do with character and nothing to do with happiness. I weep for women that face this. Especially if they don’t really want marriage or children but are forced to. Not everyone wants the same things.

@@SakshiSheoran-v3j Right in India it is very common to get into arranged marriage but not all end up bad.. I mean even in love marriages where you claim to know the person can also be abusive and force u into marriage or children .... You can not then say that ... every coin has two sides and we need to understand that... It's not like India does not see love marriage but it's comparatively low and it is also mainly because of the mindset people have in India ... I myself have left the selection of my better half on my parents because I believe they would choose best for me.. here arrange marriages are also done with consent of both parties... And the thing like force marriage is common in rural India so in my opinion letting your parents choose your life partner may not always be bad..
