Hah! It wasn't 7 minutes in that I was already able to pick this story apart bit by bit. I kind of figured Liam was naive about people's personalities due to their looks, but it is nice to see that he can learn from that mistake. Due to how Mia treated Liam for the 3 years they were married, I honestly wonder if Mia had been dating Jake whenever Liam won her for marriage. As for his self-preservation instincts, he must have some really low instincts because he noticed something odd that Mia did before getting the divorce, had Mia constantly nagging him after, and somehow didn't hear Jake walking up. The moment that Mia had gone silent should have been an eerie tip to him that something was off. Oh well. Frankly, Mia should have gotten a harsher sentencing. First for an extortionate marriage, and then for her complicicy in an attempted murder.
