For me it's the entire second verse, the part about being strong enough and brave enough to handle all life's burdens and monsters when you're grown up. As grown ups, we know that's just not true, and we wish we could be that young and naive again. 😭

So in the show ms. Honey is very frightened and referred to as a pathetic schoolgirl. She is dreaming of being of the childhood fantasy of "growing up" and all your problems leaving so she can be strong and stand up for Matilda, which is just not the reality of what happens. Hope this cleared some things up!

Scottlee C I believe they usually do but this was a remix they did some years after the original cast recording that used the entire cast.

This song is just better when it’s sung by children. This is good but the men and women singing their voices are just too low
