Because it is to hard to teach kids in high school the complex nature of the historical situation. So they teach the war was about slavery, essentially vilanizing the South as racists. One of my favorite scenes from the Simpson's was All taking a Citzenship test and trying to answer a quedtionn6about what the war was about. Starts on this highly thought out asset and the teacher tells him to answer slavery.

Trying to erase the history of the south is totally ridiculous! It offends me that everyone with a love for the South and our history is labeled racist. Our generals were great leaders, and deserve the honor of having schools, military bases and towns named for them. It makes me so angry that all these “woke” fools think they can eliminate what was half of the USA at that time. It’s history. And history and love for a place won’t go away.
