A trailblazer in conflict zone reporting, Barkha ji, you set the benchmark for others in war zone journalism. It takes the highest order of courage to cover such events, a trait that might be partly attributed to your DNA, as you keep your mother's legacy alive.

To all those here complaining about her giving away locations: She was in the war zone and that close to the action with permission from the Indian Armed Forces. More importantly, all the information that she conveyed are from army briefings she received from the Armed Forces and they only gave her what they wanted viewers to know. The Indian Army has NEVER complained about her presence or about the information she gave. So on what basis do you claim to know more than the Indian Armed Forces?

Btw the Indian army did complain which wasn't mainstreamed. Because of like minded journalists and then government support to her. Dozen of books from ex-army authors who mentioned this

Despite being in the midst of a very patriotic war, Barkha never learnt what patriotism is. She went on to become a dalal in UPA era and brokered ministerial berths for colation partners within UPA. Shame shame!

Are u mad? How many soldiers died due her nuisance act
@veekay03724 ай бұрын
Mad : Yes,for sure! The casualties were there, but not because of tge reporting of Barkha Dutt. The terrain, conditions, the inhospitable HAA weather & the terms of reference to evict those infiltrators were extremely tough. There was no other option but to launch frontal assault. The onslaught of frontal fire by well entrenched enemy sitting on dominating heights in well sited defences were the challenges for our troopswhere the death was staring back right on our well motivated attacking troops. And, in such a scenario, the casualties were bound to be on a higher side. Let us accept this harsh reality. At the same time, due to the unprecedented media coverage, the International support slided in favour of our Nation despite the sanctions due to the nuclear tests of 1988 conducted by us. Sir, the media personnel too had put their life at risk in this war zone. Undoubtedly, they did a marvelous job. So, we ought to be thankful to Barkha Dutt & others who stood shoulder to shoulder with the Soldiers. Please rethink. Baaki aage aap ki marzi... Barkha, your views, please.
