@Josh Mulvaney INTP's are not necessarily more creative, perhaps towards ideas in some areas, INTJ's are excellent at system and theory creations, very systematic. In art the INTJ's I have met all have some artistic tendencies, be it music, drawing etc, INTP's not so much, perhaps because of INTJ's Fi they are able to express their emotions indirectly better, since it is art, and most skills of art take a lot of practice.

@Josh Mulvaney Well, I mean, there are not many of either types out there, so I'm speaking mainly from people belonging to both types that I have met, and some from functions analysis. I have met one actual INTP and probably another friend of mine, since he has typed both as INTJ and INTP, but I would guess he is INTP(most of the times). Whereas I have met two other guaranteed INTJ's, and possibly some 2 others that I haven't been close to. Those 2 first INTJ's and myself all practiced some kind of art- in my case mostly drawing and sometimes writing(much less)- my other friend was very good at handcraft and modelling- the third used to play guitar. Neither of the INTP's had any real pursuit in arts, and even though both were very intelligent they didn't practice the accumulation of knowledge and practice to create many things, of course they had many ideas and a great deal of conceptual creativity, but not put into practice- not even in theoretical terms, they were just ideas, not theories or systems.

As an INTJ, according to the website at least, I have never actually made friends. I acquire friends through prolonged exposure, such as just being around them and then having to talk eventually it becomes we are friends and there is no real start to the friendship. If my life depended on it I could probably make a friend on the spot, but I would actually despise them for it

@@andyroobrick-a-brack9355 You might be an intj then. Intps are rock solid with expressing emotions, cause they want to stay as objective as possible. An intp being volatile and emotional signals emotional immaturity, and young intps are that way. You may be a young intp, or an intj, cause intj's have that Fi child or tertiary function, that is very easily triggered to emote something, wether it is anger, or interest, or love.

@@boskonikolic8961 That's a fair point, but I have no concious Ni. Plus, I'm 17 years old and have grown up in an Fi oriented family(Fi dominant mom, Fi inferior dad,) and I demonstrate a lot of concious Ne and Fe. Considering Fe is the worst function of the INTJ, I am definitely not IxTJ because I'm way too insecure in my delivery. ISFJ is possible, slightly moreso is INFJ and most likely is INxP. INFP more likely than INTJ, despite the fact that logic has always been an itch to satisfy while INTJs are more likely to directly "value" logic. I'm in the former. Logic and making sense of the world around me through personal understanding is practically an OCD-like urge for me, and I'm famous for, stereotypically, being a good debater for my ability to twist logic. Plus, Fi is very internally emotional, so you may not even know that the INTJ is mad, whereas the Fe grip is very uncontrolled and angry/sad, and it's commonality depends on the emotional state of the type. It's basically one step below bipolarism because unchecked/held in emotions erupt. I would also like to propose that just because you're an INTP, it dosen't mean you aren't in touch with your emotions. Feeling, afterall, is more befitting of values and how emotionally connected to those you are, thereby affecting the thinking function and vice versa. So, what if emotions could be made sense of like a puzzle? Reactions can be rationalized if you know their story. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts, I'm happy to discuss this more :)

@@andyroobrick-a-brack9355 Yeah, you might just be an intp that hasn't learned to control their emotions. Not tryna rub it in or anything btw :). I have had, and still do to a degree, outbursts of negative emotion, like anger or stress. Because Fi is the absolute worst function of the intp (the intp doesn't care what he feels about something or someone, he's interested in logical conclusions), it becomes a sort of a tank that you slowly fill, the more stressed or annoyed you are. And eventually, because it's filled to the brim, it explodes, ending in two ways: a fight, or crying. This is when the Fi takes control, only for a moment. A very good method of regulating this is stoicism. I'd recommend you research this. I'm 18 now, so I'm not much older than you, but I've had plenty of success regulating emotional outbursts via stoicism (plus, the intp is already inclined towards stoicism, so I think you'll like it).

I’ve had an INTP friend for 2 years now as an INTJ. He has so many video games and every time I go, we always play super smash brothers or whatever games I/we want to. He isn’t very decisive for the most part but I just let him do whatever. And it’s super nice to be able to talk about games and get video game advice because he spends so much time playing lol. We have this game night thing going on and him, our ENTJ friend, sometimes our ENTP friend and then the ESTP friend who just started following me around, would play D&D. The Intp usually stays in the background/GM and solves problems as they come along, while I fiercely try to stay alive while gaining as much power and knowledge as possible, the ENTJ tries to lead everything and make our goals which I’m okay with because leading isn’t my thing, I just go and trail off to go on solo adventures and get amazing gear/ get stolen from/ escape a bear in a cave/ go insane/ learn demonic/ open gateways to other realms/ die/ etc. Everyone sits back and enjoys my solo adventures in the background and laugh at my logic and learn a lot about my complex curiosity and layers (INTP), criticize it when I fail and appreciate and respect it when I succeed/ advise me of what I should do (ENTJ), argue with my ideas/ sometimes join me and get saved by me (once) and make the adventure a chaotic/ planning combo with near death experiences at every turn but with high payoff (ENTP), or just “wait and see” and laugh/just watch and look at what goes on (ESTP). We are all a really unique combination of people now that I think about it.

@Tony Kubetz I'm an INTJ who had a friendship with an INTP, though I'm A and he was probably T. We had a lot of things in common, but besides from all his specific personal problems(not type related), it was possible to identify this lack of self-knowledge, and I think this is the main difference between the types, due to their IN an Fi INTJ's usually search for meaning and a certain place in the world, looking for precision and outcome. On the other hand, INTP's float more around, are perhaps funnier and outwardly happiers, but struggle in finding their path and having peace with theirselves. Even though reason is essential and putting logic first in our decisions is wise, there is a need for soul searching and self-questioning, you could even say spirituality if you want(in the broader sense), which INTPs usually ignore.

Gus is Typical INTJ that People would imagine. Walter is nothing like INTJ. I honestly don't think Walter is INTJ. I think Walter is INTP, and Gale is for sure the INTP people would imagine.

I'm an INTP but I didnt realize gale was too. I felt a little embarrassed when they showed him in his home, listening to foreign music and getting every part right because I do that too and my room is just a big mess and I like the oddest things. I only realized Walter was an INTJ because my dad is an INTJ and he acts exactly like walter. Not the good side.

INTJ are cold human until they peak. When their emotions are overflowing better stay away especially when you brought up their anger.
