I am dieabetic and miss cereal...liked cream of wheat as a kid...cubed and boiled jicama then blended in a blender with heavy cream and a little butter was trying to make mashed potato substitute..it was really good but sweet tasted like sweetened cream of wheat to me...my new breakfast maybe also makes good chips in dehydrator with. Your favorite seasonings

These are so good. Better then carrots. They also have resistant starch and are good for your gut bugs.

I love jicama. Unfortunately where I live it is very HARD to find. I love it with a squirt of lime and chili powder. YUMM! Just one more reason why I miss California.

I just like lime and sea salt or some people put sugar on it, and I heard that the smaller the better they will be SWEETER and not so GRAINY and I did buy a bigger one thinking I would get more for my money and it was grainier than the smaller ones , they said to get them as small as your FIST, and I tried to put them in the frig in a sealed container, but for some reason they went bad after a couple of days, how do you store them ?,

I don't know if I'm referring to the same root. Here in Indonesia we have a root vegetable called Ubi. By the way, can those be fried into chips? If so maybe It really is what I think it is...

By the way I think potatoes come from Mexico/South America, so it's a bit funny to say this is the Mexican potato. All kinds of weird potatoes from South America, some that you have to eat with clay to absorb toxins.

Babeena_Gt _ Its not a fruit. learn science. a fruit comes from a flower. Jicama comes from the roots. I don't fucking care where you came from. Its all over the tropics.
@universalvindicator

@@santamariamarvy in Philippines we also eat it as a fruit though it is scientifically a root crop.

Not potato... Search Results Featured snippet from the web Jicama, also known as yambean, is a round, fleshy taproot vegetable of beanfamily plants. Its underground starchy root is one of the popular edible tuber-vegetables grown in many parts of Central American, South Asian, Caribbean, and some Andean South American regions.
