Hey Wes, great information as usual! Really appreciate you and your channel! I have a walk-behind, drop spreader that I use for applying lime in the Spring , just before Turkey Season. I make it a point to take 3 or 4 bags of line with me every time that I go to my land and spread these out before I leave. I place a stick in the ground where air stop spreading and another one about 20 feet away in the direction that I was spreading; this way I don't loose track of where I was.

That’s a great idea and a great plan of attack. That way it’s not such a major undertaking all at one time! Thanks for watching and commenting

I'm guessing it comes to a time to stop applying lime for a while on plots. Last couple soil tests I had done said ph was too high to rate. Go figure???

You must have really been rolling the lime to it over the years. Yes once you get to around 7, I would stop and let it work back down to around 6 again in a couple of years, then try to put another ton on and get it back to 7. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Wes, if your soil test says you need 2 tons of lime per acre, is it better to put the full amount on or break it up into 1/2 to 1/3 spreading over few months?

I’d put the full 2 ton, then check soil about a year later, prolly need to add a little more after the first one but that should get you very close. Thanks for watching and commenting

Is it okay to use pelletized lawn lime?

Yes just double check the back of the bag and make sure it says calcium carbonate. Thanks for watching and commenting!
