It might seem like an odd topic, but if you ask around, you might be surprised at how most women don’t know when they should be replacing the bras in their wardrobe.
They are not exactly wrong, because there isn’t a definite time span. However, experts recommend replacing bras every six months-or after about 180 wears. Here’s how to know when it’s time to buy a new bra, according to experts.
The Back Is Stretched Out
The back of a bra naturally stretches out over time. When this happens, the hook allows you to close your bra in a tighter position so that the bra fits your chest properly. However, when the band is so stretched out that it feels too loose even on the tightest hook, that’s the time for a new bra.
Cups Are Stretched Out or Too Big
When you start noticing a significant gap between the bra cups and your breast, it means that either the cups are stretched out or the volume of the breasts have decreased, which can happen due to weight loss. As a result, the breast is not supported and the shape of the bra shows through your clothes instead of offering smooth curves.
Cups Are Too Small
If you have put on weight and the bra is too-tight then buy new bras in your new size Because, as we all know, an ill-fitting bra can be an absolute pain to wear. It can also cause back and neck pain.
Straps Are Loose
It is very annoying to constantly adjust a bra strap that keeps sliding down your shoulder-if this is happening, it’s a clear sign that it’s time for a change
Painful Underwire
It is painful if the underwire is poking out and digging into sensitive skin. Even if you try to put it back in and sew the area shut, that’s a temporary fix and it will likely come out again. Best is to get rid of it.
Fabric Breakdown
If you notice that the fabric is getting torn or is peeling off, or the overall fabric is losing its stretch, your bra is dead and is to be replaced. A bra without elastic can’t give you sufficient support and the bra won’t have the needed structure to lift your breasts.
Your Taste Has Changed
Sometimes a bra can get dull over time or your style changes. While bras normally get covered up, it’s always important to choose one that makes you feel happy, comfortable, and even empowered.
There are some simple changes you can make that will have a big difference, such as:
Using a gentle soap and better to have a hand wash.
Reducing the frequency of washing. Once every three wears is more than enough!) if you do not sweat a lot and if you do not stay in a hot area.
Avoiding using a dryer - the heat will speed up the wear and tear process.
