I don't sugar coat my videos, if things don't work out, I'll show you they haven't worked out. Not every off road ride goes as planned & I believe it's important to be honest and share that with you. I still have the TKC80’s on rather than the Michelin Trackers which I believe would have coped much better. I attempted this route after two days of really heavy rain so I wasn't expecting too much success but I thought I'd have a go nevertheless. I'f I'd been with at least one other rider I reckon we could have helped each other and managed it, but it was what it was. I still enjoyed the experience but I'm now waiting for the route to dry out a bit!!
Please feel free to leave a comment down below and I will respond to any questions/comments etc.

Hi Steve. That was brilliant. In that it made me really laugh. With you not at you. You perfectly placed "LOL’s" closely followed by beep beep beep! Brilliant. I was watching thinking oh no looks like he’s got the tkc80’s on!! They are so good on the road but completely rubbish in the mud. I don’t think you should wait for it to dry up. I think you should put the trackers on grab a friend and go back and beat it. Like you said can’t be that bad what could go wrong should be ok. Lol. Great entertainment!! Thanks.

Duncan many thanks, you can laugh at me if you want, I won’t be offended, this is just a bit of light hearted entertainment and if it made you laugh then that’s good enough for me. 😂 I’m like Eddie The Eagle Edwards but instead of ski’s I use a bike and of course I’m called Steve not Edward! 😂 I’m thinking about having a stab at it on the 350, that’s still got decent off-road tyres on it. I think on this video I managed about 90 metres before I abandoned it, next time I’m going to really go for it and aim for 100 metres. 👍

Good idea 350 good tires. 👍 It’s funny but I watch you go through the process of I want to do it, but I really don’t want to get stuck by myself in the middle of nowhere. I’m watching saying go on do it have a go! But I remember only to well on the TET stopped in front of a huge rutted muddy puddle. Saying what if I get stuck. And more importantly BY MY SELF!! So you did the right thing. A second person for back up is needed. So 350 this Friday it is then 😂 Keep up the good work.

Not failed but lesson learned...well done for persevering...that brought a whole new meaning to the classic 3 point turn...at least you got out in one piece, a fall against any of the tree stumps would have been very painful
@701Adventures
@701Adventures Жыл бұрын
If at first you don’t succeed at a 3 point turn, just throw the bike on its side and drag it. 😂 Naturally I blame the tyres, the weather, the type of soil, the moisture was the wrong sort, the trees were too distracting….😂

I love these vids where you get in a 'pickle', but you persevere and get it sorted, im sure when you look back at the vid, youll think i should have done this or that, but you survived it and to the next pickle. well done you.

You’re spot on, after looking at the video I could probably have gone a bit further on and then turned around in a much easier location. Hey, ho, I’ll bare that in mind for next time. 😂

Imagine doing that with a GSA! 🥴. Top Marks for persistence in getting it out of the rut. There may have been a camera audio intermittent malfunction as it kept bleeping 😁. I didn’t laugh once, as I have been in the same predicament on the odd occasion.
@701Adventures
@701Adventures Жыл бұрын
Yes my camera was playing up and it introduced some bleeps, no idea why. 😂 I would NOT want to ever try this on a GSA, shudder the thought. It was difficult enough dragging the 701 due to the oversized pegs sticking in the mud. 👍

on a recent trip in scotland my route down a narrow track came to a scary ford at the bottom of a hill, so had a hell of a job turning round, but nothing like as sticky as you lol, so i feel your pain, and thanks for showing the vid warts and all, i'm sure many vloggers wouldn't have, and glad u do these things so we don't have to !!. - as a matter of interest where is it? sort of looks familiar

Hi, the route is near Leathley on the outskirts of Otley. I’ve not done a Ford yet, I must make an effort to find some and have a go. You’re right when you say a lot of vloggers wouldn’t have shown this, I’m not fussed, it’s all part of the fun, not everything goes smoothly! 😂

@@701Adventures thanks, i know leathley well, actually i went through on monday, it's a regular route through there to beckwithshaw then onto masham and north yorks. your route looks sort of like towards the norwood edge direction, anyhoo i wont be doing it lol, if you want to try a proper ford (another i turned back on coz i daren't tackle on my cb125f) then next time you are near grosmont, turn south just before egton bridge & then take lease rigg lane to the end and cross the river esk just south of grosmont. maybe it will be a tad lower now, but i was there mid may, and although a nice day looked well deep & i couldnt see 'what lies beneath', but i'd love to see someone do it, even if it makes me look like a pussy :). @@701Adventures unfortunately you can't see it on google earth coz of the tree's. another one that i chickened out on in scotland is called 'Brora Ford' NW of Doll a cpl of miles off the A9, you can see it clearly on google earth, and the one nr grosmont looks pretty similar. GL

Hello I hear you have some stunning trails in Romania, I would like to visit one day. I have about 14k km on the bike so far and I bought it new in April 2022. The only issue I have ever had with it was not really a fault with the bike, it was down to some poor quality fuel I put in it which caused some starting issues. Once I had flushed that out it was back to normal. Do you own a 701?
