I've been really loving this Series of videos so much. However, there are some numbers on the disc that really do matter. Weight. Would love to See a video on how weight can affect how the flight is.. a feather Weight, a light weight, and max weight. I know Ezra made a video on it, But I feel that you would be better suited to do this video
@Kriss_941 Жыл бұрын
A lot of myths and weird beliefs floating around with weight as well... So many people think that lighter discs fly further, and well they technically can, but that's because they are just more affected by outside forces. So in a tailwind, a lightweight disc will get "pushed" further by the wind, but on the flip side it would also lose speed faster in a headwind... The lighter weight means the disc will leave your hand with a slightly higher speed compared to a heavier disc, but that heavier disc would also maintain it's speed better. I think the reason why so many people think lighter discs fly further is because maybe throw discs that are in reality a bit outside of their armspeed and when they get a bit more speed and slightly less stability from a lighter weight disc that translates into a better flight.

Having played multiple rounds now with the new MVP Watt, I can definitely say its a very similar disc to the Glitch in a heavier mold. It also feels a little bit more shallow. But, I do struggle to get distance out of it. It serves as my straight approach disc in the 70-150ft range.

I have a Loft Hydrogen as well as a Pole Cat and Glitch. It is just as straight if not more so. I prefer the Glitch in low and no wind. I'm a big glitch fan, especially for the woods. I hit chains this week on a tight woods shot, 154'. What surprises me about the glitch is how torque resistant it is. For me, I just pick and angle and it holds that angle. But on a steep anhyzer around obstacles, it often flattens out before touching down, preventing those nasty cut rolls.

The one thing I will say as an absolute Berg evangelist is that plastic really does matter. I predominantly throw the K3 plastic for my Bergs as they are much straighter than the K1 version (like you threw). I love the berg and glitch, for varied approaches. Berg drops fast enough it’s reliable for risky approaches, whereas glitch can glide out when I feel a kid is too much, but berg won’t make it. Funnily enough, polecat was my first ever disc, long before I knew about disc golf, I found one buried in the woods at a scout camp over 10 years ago, (no return number). Kept it all these years, even though I hated it because not understanding what it was for, it never flew like my other frisbees, (now I obviously understand why that is). It now sits in my bag, rarely thrown, but one day I’m sure it will shine.

Based on the typical explanation of "you need to throw this disc at the disc speed for proper flight" it's interesting how hard these 1 speeds were getting thrown without compromising the flight. Lord knows I can't get my glitch out 320ft but it flies the same for me.
@SixSidedDiscs Жыл бұрын
That is a great point, I didn't really stop and think about that. Something to test with the Glitch (and maybe Polecat, never tried that) is steep elevation drops. No matter how long the hole is I typically throw the Glitch in those situations cause even when dropping a ton it still drops straight which I've never gotten out of a disc (sooner or later a "normal" disc starts fading and if it's understable it fades forever 😅). Complete game changer for those kinds of holes assuming you need to go straight and there's OB or rough vegetation on the sides.

This was a great intro to the 1 speed comparison but the different olastics make the results quite different! My k3 berg started out with a 0 turn and 0 fade dead strait and now flies with some -1 turn and 0 fade. And i am only throwing it 200 ft max power. I asume the results would show more turn if yiur guy in the video threw it. He got the glitch over 300 and i cant get my glitch over 240. I love your comparison videos amd i know it is a ton ofe more work to compare all the options but it might be worth atleast mentioning which olastics will have what type of changes to the discs that are actually featured in the video. Another example, i have a halo sonic and a halo pole cat and both fly exactly the same for me as the glitch except for a little less distance. Again glitch only making it to 240 max and the other 2 about 210. Quite different results with less arm speed.
