My mom also passed away from Alzheimer's. It's a devastating disease .it's a sad thing when they don't even recognize family and all the things surrounding them they knew all their lives. But I will never forget ,a couple of days before my mom passed away. She looked up at me and remembered my face and my name ..and told me she loved me and I told her the same .I can hold that thought in my heart forever and I know because of the great salvation for us who believe in Jesus ,I will c my mother again in paradise. I love u mom .thank u for all the great things u have done for everyone and especially for me. I love u

I can see why it won an award. Yet had to stop half way through. Got to me because I'm getting older as so many of us are. In the last ten years I've lost my children, two, a son and a daughter. The thought of who is going to take care of me has been on my mind for some time. Hopefully I'll finish it at a later time.

My guess? Major stardom comes with a lot of strings attached, which she probably got plenty of during her "Bionic Woman" days. From what I've read about her on both her Wikipedia page and her IMDB bio, it seems she's had other priorities and didn't really care that much for all the stardom.

The bride of 47 years and I cared for her very demented Father. It took her, myself and her brother to stay a step ahead because he was a very intelligent man. He had heart failure going on, kidneys were at 20 percent, diabetic and a few other issues but as far as he was concerned he was in perfect health and took no meds. A small bowl of 11 pills in the morning and a few fewer in the evening. All these are mine? I don't need these. It was a constant battle. His son he saw then was not his son. His son was 12 or 13. It was a total stress filled experience, a roller coaster ride. It is sort of distantly like war, If you don't know what it is like, you are lucky and count your blessings.

Dementia runs in our family. My grandfather had it and he died at the beginning of this year. My mother started having memory issues a fee years ago. Since her father passed, it has gotten really progressive. I pray that when the time comes that I will have the ability to support her in the way that she needs, whatever that means. What a good movie. The true reality of the situation on Dimentia, and how to handle ur loved one in this situation. Its scary really to know if ur doing the right thing for ur loved one.Sad to take them away from the home they know and love would confuse them even more. But the safety of ur loved one i beleive is to be the number one thing u really need to worry about. Please don't stop going in to see them, and visiting them. They will remember, and forget. But its those times they remember! that really count❤

@@diannenaworensky6698 It’s not what I anticipated- but, I remember walking in the hospital, thinking he was still alive, putting my hands on his chest as he lay there, being told “he’s gone” and realizing maybe for the first time… “I never have to hear him criticize me again.” It was a sense of relief. I’d be lying if I said otherwise. Yet, I couldn’t achieve that sense of freedom, or whatever it was, while he was alive. Once that door was forever shut, it just occurred to me… ‘He lies there, dead, and there’s nothing more I can ever say or do to change our past. It’s over. His time is done. He’s not there. That’s just his body. He’s gone.” I still remember the sense of relief. It felt great, and I really let go of so much, including the hope things might be different. It was just two seconds or so. It all went away. I felt released. Thanks for the comment. I lasted a few minutes into the movie but there was no way I could suspend my reality and place myself in the role of a guy so broke up and desperate after a parent died. I envy people who have something like what we all idealize as a “good” relationship, with our parents. Like, the last scene in Planes, Trains and Automobiles with John Candy & Steve Martin, where Director John Hughes turned an all out uproarious comedy into a suddenly very deep and sad movie about the importance of human connections. Best wishes to you. Thanks. And, as the construct of “Object Relations” holds, those early attachments are echoed all throughout our lives. My parents had their style and I’m strongly influenced by it even now, and cannot undo or modify it. He died young, 64? almost 20 years ago, and now I’m early 60’s. He did the best he could. He was not a bad father. We just never had a good relationship for whatever reason. Accepting we never would before he died, m

@@DianaRukemanganizi Yes, they did, bring us into this world. And, yes, the way we treat one another is important, and has consequences. Unfortunately, my dad was raised reportedly by parents who thought a beating was a way to raise a kid. He added a very long “lecture” to it. He’d never believe he “abused” me, and probably thought he was a good dad. I wrote a long comment in the comments section to a separate commenter, if you care to read it. Yet, I agree we cannot be forced to love anyone. What’s harder for me is to know this, The opposite of Love ❤️ is not hate, it’s fear. I don’t believe one can love what they fear. Those emotions seem to rule one another out. So, although he was not any longer someone I feared, there was always a sense of never feeling connected to him by love. If he wasn’t my dad, I’d have nothing to do with him. His death made that a reality. No more hoping or trying. Thanks for the comment

@@diannenaworensky6698 Hi. I looked at your channel. We both have Love Shack in our playlist so I’ll subscribe. It is not the dream, or fantasy to have to cut off a damaging aspect. We prune trees. What’s harder for me is to nourish the tree itself, and focus on the good- as in I’m alive. I left a longer comment on this to another commenter at the same video. “The metaphor of "ghosts in the nursery" was introduced in 1975 by child psychoanalyst and clinical social worker Selma Fraiberg and her colleagues. It describes the relationship between a parent's negative or traumatic childhood experiences and their own parenting style. The metaphor suggests that these "ghosts" can reappear in subsequent generations, contributing to a cycle of abuse” Pretty obvious these “ghosts” in the nursery are generally unconscious things we learned, adapted to, and hold to as our normal assumptions, beliefs, experiences, perceptions. But, everyone’s “normal” is different.

Easy to see why he left. The mother just can't stop making caustic remarks from the very moment she sees him. You'd think after all those years she could forgive and let the bitterness go, especially with the recent illustration of how short life is. Forgiveness is hard when you have to forgive someone who continues to shoot verbal and emotional arrows at you. Forgiving "in the midst" is a challenge.

If only dementia was this kind. This film is unrealistic in its depiction of the disease and the nurse getting jealous after one dinner is a bit much.

There’s several things I didn’t like about the nurse. First, as a nurse, she yells at him about his situation in a public place. Not a good nurse. Then, she calls in the incident with the fire in the barn without telling him first what she was going to do. Not a good nurse. Then, she accuses him of “using her” in a situation where she had already made assumptions about and didn’t bother to verify any of them. It was her own fault having felt rejected. Not good girlfriend material. But, I still liked the movie because it was Lindsey Wagner. Loved her in The Bionic Woman. And Jack, Mike Markoff, is hot in a tank top.

I can't see how this movie award winning, standards must be very low. You can't "nearly die" from being caught in a fence, over dramatised crap. I can agree that jack does look hot in a tank top though
