This proves that Bruce Lee was always right: mixed martial arts ALWAYS wins. It's more dynamic and practical. Kung Fu is more than about fighting, it's part fighting but mostly philosophical and morally driven. It's about balance and respecting yourself and your opponent and largely ceremonial. Bruce Lee combined many things; Wing Chun, Aikido, Eskrima, and various other forms of kung fu because he was about finding that quick resolution to a conflict. Let's put it this way; real Kung Fu Masters don't challenge people. You are taught not to seek fighting and to do your part to diffuse/ refuse.

I am a black belt in Tang Soo Do Karate (Northern China/Korea, Kung Fu is Southern China). No style (except MMA training which draws the best from every style) is a complete fighting style. Kung Fu was formulated to train groups of peasants to fight armed soldiers. It was not formulated for a prize fight between two people in a ring. If you want to do that then train MMA. Traditional martial arts have great value and the training is for actual world possibilities like multiple attackers etc. In the real world, your MMA training will not help you as much as Kung Fu or Karate. Believe me, combat in the actual world does not involve locking up and rolling around on the mat for 10 minutes! People tend to jump in and interfere. MMA is a controlled environment. The real world is chaos. Finally, traditional martial arts training is still a better method of training the masses of people and even for kids. Most people are not suited for MMA training but almost everybody can learn and practice Karate.

The public gets a distorted concept of the Gung-Fu effectiveness for fighting. I am glad these guys are exposed by getting their ass beatdown. If they charge money for teaching they should be sued for being charlatans. . It all starts with having a great teacher who is a trained fighter with combat experiences in kill-or-be-killed. My master was Mr. Jimmy H. Woo. He killed many men and everyone understood to not mess with him. Even Bruce Lee and Ed Parker came to his studio in El Monte, Ca to learn real fighting skills. The great Kathy Long kick boxing champ received her master from him. And many others. I have personally used Gung -Fu throughout my life for sport, work, and to defend myself, family and friends. With the correct mindset, training, and conditioned reflexes Gung-Fu is very effective. One final thing is real Gung-Fu doesn't look like that in action.

You're not wrong. Most kung fu schools lack frequent sparring, much less sparring outside their own systems. When I was younger, back in the 90s, we built a group to remedy that. At its peak, we had about 50 people from nearly 30 systems, everything from trad kung fu to kyokushin to boxers and wrestlers. We trained together three hours a day and learned to adapt what we knew to less orthodox situations. That training was invaluable.

If you can stay cool and counter off a big right hand, you can eat 90% of "street fighters" alive if it comes to an actual fight. Block high, kick the lead leg, and most of them are done.

Great video Bro. My father was a sailor and had been in many brawls. He said he had been in and seen brawls with Kung Fu and many other types of fighters. The only ones to prevail against Marshall Arts guys were the street fighters. The trick, he said, was to get in close, not let them kick you and beat the hell out them. It worked every time. 😂😅🤣

I know a man who won an international open martial arts tournament in the 1990s. He went against all styles Kung Fu were pretty opponents, but they got knocked out quickly. Bobby Ross, not the painter, is a master at Tae Kwon Do, Judo and Tang Sudo. I sparred him once. I wasn't scared because I knew he wouldn't hurt me, but after I got a lucky kick in that scored and would have knocked him out if I was trying, the tone changed. He would politely tap me on the side of my head with his foot if my hands went down too low. I would feel it but I didn't see it. He was that fast.

one problem is Kung Fu and other martial arts is their strikes are meant to kill or serious maim someone. Poking out the eyes, smashing someone's throat, seriously breaking bones, joints etc. But you can't do any of that in an MMA fight so it is essentially a boxing match. The martial arts styles are not adapted well for boxing because it's mostly punching. So the martial art masters end up getting clobbered because they don't practice the kind of defense for punches. And they are limited in the use of kicking. In a real street fight the Kung Fu master might fare better because his skills won't be limited as they are in MMA fights. But MMA and boxing are still formidable styles in any situation. There was a Shaolin Monk fighter who was kicking ass though in MMA fights. He had more training and also the guy was built like a tank. He took repeated blows to the head and just shook it off. It was truly insane!

I used to train Taek Won Do in College, we were trained by some guy who was trained himself by Korean Army TWD masters. We learned a lot of kicks and punches forbidden in sports. Deadly. But College (92's in Cuba) refuses to buy the equipment we needed for practicing, and then we had to fight against the Karate national team, under Karate rules, not ours. We were beaten. We could have easily won, under TWD rules.

You are absolutely correct! Through full iron body training this is accurate. However, the purpose of training is to not absorb punishment. Physical toughness is the foundation just in case, backup system, if you will. I took good shots but my conditioning kept my mind strong and was able to weather the storm in a manner of speaking. Which allowed me to turn the tide effectively and successfully.
