I’ve always wondered where the tradition of singing the second ‘drizzarsi’ with both the last two syllables on the E started. Occasionally you hear it ‘come scritto’, but much more often as here.

I love Obratzova but she was flat on that last note. Ponselle swallowed that one phrase in the back of her throat.... that is unusual for her....I don't think these are good examples. They lack class. The danger of using too much chest voice is that it weakens the seam into the next register making it weaker which forces one to bring the chest voice up higher, which weakens the next note in head voice which causes one to rise the chest voice higher which weakens the next note which causes.... etc ...

It doesn't weaken the seam, which gets stronger or weaker depending on how much and how well you train to hide the transition. Where do you come up with these random cause and effect relationships??? We have trouble figuring out your mind. Do you think chest voice is a cumulative toxin of some sort? Sorry but that is just DAFT.

@@Thisisopera Do you teach singers? I mean, are the things you're saying on this channel being actually taught? Because I certainly hope so. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered your channel and in particular the video "Why you don't like opera", which struck a chord for me. The arguments you make are certainly strong and compelling, but do they have any real credibility? May I ask, kindly, who are you and why are you an expert on this subject? As a non opera singer your videos seem to be awfully critical of modern opera without much mention of the good or the potential in modern opera singers. I'd like to watch more opera, and I was wondering if you could provide any suggestions to famous modern opera singers?
