I always come out from one of these hikes feeling a hundred times better than I did going in. It just resets the spirit, resets the mind, puts me back on track so I can deal with life... Amen to that Man.

I used to get really dizzy sitting, and standing so I would just lay down, while eating I would just sit down on my bed, it sucks but now I can sit down for hours, I still get dizzy on, and off but my Anxiety isn't as bad as it used to be, I just try my best to keep my mind, and body as calm as possible, I can't really go to far from home, but I no longer feel depressed, I learned to changed my "what if thoughts" I might be the "old me" but I also not the same guy I was since I started having anxiety, panic attacks, but I hope everything works at for you, and everyone that's going though this as well.

For those of you who are not doing well, I have a suggestion and you could try this out and it will also help the ENT doc to fgure out what is going on. I was having all these stmptoms that many of you were having for the last 4 years and none of the experts in USA or Canada were able to help me until recently when I started using the silicone ear plugs as a last resort. I have been on every drug that is in the drug book for dizziness and oscillopsia and none helped me. I just ended up with complications from all these drugs. My symptoms completely disappeared after I used the silicone plugs (looks like and feels like playdough, but small) to plug my right ear for 2 weeks continuosly. Sound was causing my dizziness and oscillopsia. Even the running of the motor of a fridge, cars driving by, even the suttle noise that I hear while in a car was causing my symptoms. You could try plugging your ear, one at a time for a week continuously (including at night) with silicone plug. It should seal well and you should hear very minumum through that ear when plugged. See if this makes any difference. If you are not successful, try plugging the other ear as above. Make sure you are not leaving pieces of plugs in the ear. If it still doesn't help, try plugging both ears or avoid every little sound for two weeks and see if it helps. You should avoid every little suttle sounds, for e.g. air condition fan, the sound of the water falling out of your tap etc. If it works notify your ENT doc. There could be some kind of fistula in the ear. Good Luck!

Thank you for the tip! I've heard of disorders that cause sounds to stimulate a dizziness response. Was your dizziness pretty much gone if you were in a silent location for at least a few minutes? Anyway, I did have a VNG test today which I'm told will get us closer to a diagnosis.

I feel your pain I am dyslexic have a severe form of it to the point where doctors say I may never learn how to read in fact the way I'm typing this out is to text to speech this is the way I can communicate with people while typing. truthfully I don't know if any of this is spelled correctly or not I don't even know the words that I'm saying coming up or being spelled correctly. Quite honestly it's very scared knowing that no matter how hard I work I'll never learn how to read. I'm still going to try. I'm going to try to learn how to read for however long I live. If can keep that promise to myself then you can try to get through your ship. because no matter what I'll have your back.

Once I started plugging my ear, it took me over two weeks before I felt the difference and it took a month or so for it to completely disappear. My ENG test was normal. Now they are retesting me. If I keep my earplugs 24/7 I have zero dizziness or oscillopsia. As soon as I take it out and is exposed to any sound, even the sound of the running water, my dizziness come back.

I feel like my life is spiraling out of control. I wish I could go out in nature but exercise in general and hot weather triggers panic attacks which prevents me from going out and doing things. I'm also really afraid of being alone. To the point where I'm diagnosed with mono phobia.

Hello Seth I’ve watched all your videos on your vestibular problem. Very helpful. I do have a few questions for you My first is does one or both of your ears pop or crack a few times a day My second is I’ve been battling this now for a little over 15 months, I have to say my symptoms have continued to improve I don’t have a feeling of having a big hole in my brain too much. My balance and stability have improved with therapy exercises and I’ve been able to swim which is very much a challenge to my system. My doctors have said I might retain 100 percent full function in both inner ears. I’m curious to know what your doctors have said to you and your chance of 100 percent full function. I understand that we may have different symptoms but vestibular neuritis is all the same. I’ve noticed that driving for long periods of time do help at all and it’s extremely uncomfortable doing anything after those long rides which makes me nervous when thinking of discussions about permanent damage to my vestibular with my doctocs.
@bwelmhouse15 жыл бұрын
No solid diagnosis, but a strong theory from my ENT that I have vestibular neuritis in both ears. Both ears failed the caloric testing. The nerve damage is permanent in my case. Being that it's bilateral in my case, the ENT does not believe I will achieve 100% compensation. And that's okay with me because I feel 75-90% improved most of the time (sometimes a little less during flares and occasionally I feel no dizziness at all), and I can manage the symptoms and keep them to a minimum by doing my VRT everyday and staying physically active. Most of the brain fog stuff has gone away. It only comes around mildly once in a great while. My ears pop and crack constantly with changing pressure, but that's been all my life and hasn't caused any problems. There may come a day when scientists come out with vestibular implants to replace the damaged nerves. I always have hope for the future. But I am impressed with how much better I am now compared to when this all started.

You should really get an eeg, could be all sorts of misfiring. Do you have actual spinning vertigo or are you thinking more of an imbalance? In regards to your eyes, why not get laskik? Have you tried eating bone broth, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar? What anxiety meds are you on?
@bwelmhouse17 жыл бұрын
No spinning vertigo. It's more an imbalance. I'm not taking anxiety meds regularly.

Simply Seth That's what I have, sounds like chronic subjective dizziness and supposedly SSRI and VRT are only solutions.

How are you Seth? Any luck with the ear plug?
@bwelmhouse17 жыл бұрын
I didn't start that yet. I'm taking guidance from my ENT and physician and they said to hold off on that for now. An ear plug causes wax buildup to be shoved and compacted against the eardrum and they want my ears clear for upcoming tests and head scans.

Simply Seth Sounds good man, I had the same thing and obviously the anxiety keeps building because of the unknown. The closest thing I could find in regards to my symptoms was PPPD and CSD. Now with you, we have the opposite in regards to I feel better when laying down and not moving while you feel better moving. Would you say you suffer more from anxiety or depression? Do you find sometimes when you are deep in thought or doing a task with your complete focus that your symptoms are not there? How about your glasses? Do you notice the symptoms are less pronounced without or with your glasses? Sorry for so many questions.
@awakenedsoul7 жыл бұрын
Simply Seth Although I'm 99% sure you already looked into this hopefully your tests can help. Have you thought about mal de debarquement syndrome? That seems to match up best with your symptoms. Ironically I have the same symptoms as you however mine are better when laying or sitting and worse when walking. I also don't really notice it when running or driving.
