For anyone curious about how Armor (and Magic Resist) damage reduction is calculated in League of Legends: Armor increases your "effective health pool" against Physical Damage by a 1 armor to %1 "effective health" ratio. "Effective Health" is an invisible amount of extra Health your health bar represents when taking a certain type of damage (physical or magic) which is based off of your displayed maximum Health amount. What that means is; if you have 1000 Health and 100 Armor, the 100 Armor increases your "effective health" against physical damage by %100. So when taking physical damage, you lose the same _percentage_ of your 1000 Health health bar as if you actually had 2000 Health. So with those stats; taking an attack that deals 200 physical damage would deal %10 of 2000 "effective health", which means your 1000 Health would end up being reduced by only that %10, which means you take 100 damage from that attack. Adding another 100 Armor (for 200 Armor on 1000 Health) would increase your "effective health" against physical damage to 3000, and then that 200 physical damage attack would only deal 66 damage. So when Zwag got up to 1025 Armor with 4522 max Health at the end of the match, his "effective health" against physical damage was: *46,350* Edit: Another way to look at "effective health" is that it is the amount of that type of damage that the enemy would have to deal according to their displayed stats (when they mouse-over an ability and it says "Deal >number< physical/magic damage") in order to kill you. So the enemy would have had to dish out over *_46,000_* physical damage to kill Zwag at the end.

The dorans ring regenerates more mana and does more damage. As long as you can maintain 1.5 mana/sec and space out your abilities accordingly you'll be much stronger with a dorans ring. Tear really isn't necessary in a lot of matchups

@@zzirDiz or you could just start with more mana, not space out your abilities, throw more rocks, and kill them at or before level 3. With comet, scorch and cheap shot, that rock hits like a truck. It doesn't miss, and if you land 5-10 of them rapid fire, they no longer have a health bar.

As a malphite enjoyer, the 2 rune choices change your skill order if you want to go grasp - W max then E Comet/phase rush - Q then E/W always remember health/armour then throw in a cheeky demonic for extra ap damage. Frostfire 1st is okay, but tbh sunfire is just as good if not better into ad champs. Also helps with cs. 2nd or 3rd should be frozen heart for huge mana sustain

Pantheon is really hard to stat check, he can one-shot nearly any champion in the game except maybe full armor builds and even then full armor-builds will be in disvantage of damage vs pantheon.

I mean pantheon ult passive is 30%, the grudge gives another 30%, the cleaver reduces by 30% and the eclipse adds another 20 or so percent so pretty much as much armor pen as possible, aside from maybe j4 in spellbook with these items and pantheon ult

Malphite is actually one of the few champs that has reasons to care about ranking any of his abilities first. The Q is consistent poke and a strong tool for both chasing and disengage. Very good if going against mobile or skirmishy melee champs- not good against ranged champs since they can very easily poke back and not really care about it, though against ranged its basically your only hope of not getting kited to death pre-6. Also devours mana, so you have to be tactical with it. His E is an attack speed slow and lots of AoE damage, good if you need to be trading often with champs that depend heavily on autos and aren't too tough to catch up to. His W is even better waveclear than his E thanks to its long duration cleave, and is also a very potent auto-reset with a strong armor scaling damage steroid on it. Extremely good if you're sheen rushing and plan to be fighting alot. High damage density so not too good into Sett specifically, Q is definitely better since it lets you whittle him down to deny his punch bar and is juuuust range enough to stay outside his stun- though he can still flash engage so gotta watch out.

I'm always taking Garen top if I go up against Malphite. Honestly, there is no better counter, even though it may seem to be counterintuitive, but that's true. - Garen's E reduces armor by 25%. If you rush Cleaver and max the spin, which is an overall very good first item and ability rush for Garen, you reduce armor by 55% by 10th minute every time you trade by just spinning on Malphite for 3 seconds, which he can't really avoid in lane. - Garen doesn't take magic damage from Malphite either. Just buy mercs and take a resist rune and your W alone will make you immortal vs Malphite. Malphite can't really afford it to buy any penetration without losing his impact as a tank. You effectively make him useless and if you have demolish you can push him all the way to nexus in 15 minutes by just ignoring his damage and going for the turret all the time. - Garen's kit mechanically counters Malphite's actually. Q is perfect for getting out of Malphite Q slow, and you W shield can block an entire ult since he doesn't build AP. - Your ult executes with true damage at 35% HP. If you build collector and take ignite (which are both good choices for Garen top), you can execute Malphite from almost half HP, all with true damage, ignoring all of his armor and even their HP for the most part. - Malphite's by far most simply counter is sustain and Garen excells at it. You do not use any mana, and you have a Warmogs built into your kit. If you take doran's shield second wind, Malphite will never be able to survive a lane with you, not even early game. He will have to back 3 times as often as you, losing plating after plating, wave after wave, and eventually, his turrets too.

The only way they COULD have done damage is if Jarven got max stacks of cleaver on you which I believe is 30% so at 800 armor that’s taking away 240. His Q also shreds….26% at max rank. Since I haven’t got a clue HOW Riot codes these things I just got with 26% of the now 560 armor. So that’s 56+56+28+6(10%10%5%1% the 1% is rounded up since it’s 5.6) so another 146 gone to bring you to 414 which is still an okay amount of armor so then they would need the 30% from the AD armor pen so that’s another 41x3=123. 414-123= 291. This is the only way to do any damage to you and there’s no way in hell Jarven is getting enough time to do at least 4 auto attacks, Q and ult. There is only 1 other way to push this further and that’s the Mythic that gives passive % armor pen the Eclipse which is 4% per legendary so with boots you’re looking at an extra 16% (riot where’s the AP version of this damn thing?) a champ without armor shred like Jarven can get up to 76% armor pen by using Eclipse, Black Cleaver, and either Lord Dominik’s Regards/Mortal Reminder/Serylda’s Grudge. If you feel like playing super mega YOLO you can use these on Jarven to his Q adding another 26% will basically make it 102%. While some of these are shreds and some is just penetration it will basically do the same thing. You could also do this on Vi with her Denting Blows to take another 20% off for 96% it’s SUPER high risk possibly high reward if you can basically just assassinate any back line you want. This might be something to try with a champ who’s got a stack slow attack speed like Jhin. You’d just have basically half the items already selected for you. Those being Eipse, Cleaver, and probably Lords for the crit chance. You’d probably go Movement Boots and a Rapid Fire Cannon and maybe finishing with an IE. 60% crit chance, probably about 300-350 AD.

You should play warmog in that build. It doesnt give armor but 800 health and some ability haste and most importantly you can just go back 5 seconds and come back full health. Much more value than Aegis and frozen heart.

Don't fight her early and play safe and wait for your jungler , when he comes around use wither to slow her so that your jungler can kill her and open your ulti and chase her down with him. Your wither lasts 5 seconds and you can kill her duing that time , she is very very mobile so you need wither to catch her , also it is better if you play ghost and use that too. Without your jungler there is no way you can beat Riven early unless she is a terrible player. If you have many stacks and ghost you can beat her later on by using your wither and catching up to her. Also always max q and then w , don't max your e just to be killing minions it is useless , it is better to lose minions and to have fighting power than to be farming with your e and be useless in fights.

Turrets should do ramping % health damage, being able to pretend they aren't there and still do enough damage to kill someone in only a few seconds is why tanks are busted.
