For hundreds of thousand of years men and women have been living together. The men hunt, fight other tribes, protect the women from threats like being raped, protect the children. The women were probably very vulnerable because they would either be pregnant or bringing up young children. Now, for some reason some women want to try to prove they can be just as violent.

@@hailredlamp they seem to not get it until they get hit or knocked out. I still like the one of the girl who is a blackbelt losing to a guy who has no formal training. A female I know claims she can whoop guys and acts all tough but when it comes down to someone she says she is going to go kick their rear, she suddenly is quiet and does nothing. I have seen her twice try to act all tough and the 1st one the guy pushed her down with one arm and she broke her wrist. The 2nd one, same thing, got pushed not that hard and fell down and started crying claiming he broke her wrist again (which wasn't).

I'm VERY, very confident and I ALWAYS wore head gear when given the chance. Why would you willingly risk brain damage when you could easily help avoid it? @@oldogre5999 it's been proven that head protection doesn't protect from brain damage. At all. It only protects your face from bruises and cuts. Doesn't even minimize danger of brain damage. American football players have helmets and many of them develop brain damage from all the collisions to the head. Less than boxers because in football one of the goals is to take your opponent down by tackling them down. Sometimes head collisions happen. Same with boxing gloves. They only protect knuckles and fingers so that they don't break. They actually lead to more damage, just like headgear, because as a fighter you now have a bigger incentive to punch your opponent in a head.

2 years ago during a taekwondo class (I was cho-dan-bo) we were practicing ground fighting and this girl who was black belt-stripe 2 was teasing me and kept offering a 1v1 in tackling, she was rather taller than me so as a shorter guy it was a bit scary lol. Before we started she was acting all cocky and saying that I won’t last long only for her to be thrown across the room and gasping for air 40 seconds later and our instructor cut the fight short. She apologised 2 days later for being rude.
