Shadow Boxing: the benefits are the hand/foot-to-eye co-ordination, footwork drills, exercising muscles and aerobic/anaerobic training. All this without the increased risk you would get when sparring (injury from your opponent or sprains from landing punches), likewise the extra strain on the muscles and joints doing bag work. @user-mn9wc5ru5w3 ай бұрын
Facts. Black guy held back, believe me. I don't recognize him, but if it's true that he was a former champion in any pro organization, he was holding back. Some of the shots were stiff but there was restraint on followups. He let the Asian guy work, let him throw some things in there and returned fire. When I spar with the pros in my gym it looks like that too. They slow it down a bit for me, but they don't just stand there and let me use them as a heavy bag either. They let me get off some offense, and block it if they can, and if they don't, they're gonna counter me and take advantage of my (comparatively) worse defense with the intention to teach me to keep guards tighter. That was a good round I think. Even the head kick was a little short, most likely on purpose to give the Asian guy a moment to block/pull back. Only real critique would be that some of the black guys body kicks were disproportionately hard - black guy was setting the pace as most shot for shot, but seemed like he had more power behind his kicks than the Asian guy was using.

0:55 bro that’s Jeff Chan, he was a UFC champ back when he competed, now he’s a KZbinr but he’s not just a KZbinr. Bros a beast. But clearly it was supposed to be a light spar, and Chan is a nice bloke so if it’s light he’s gonna go light, unlike the other guy.

Really? No boxer? Didn't Ray Mercer fight once and win by KO? Heather Hardy? Clarissa Shields, Mia St. John, Anna Julaton, Marcus Davis, Holly Holm - there are others. Hell, even Kimbo knocked people out before he used his feet or wrestled. It's not about having no chance in the cage, it's about money. Which is why women cross over more than guys. Ask the mma star from Sacramento what happened with the boxer in that gym fight years ago. He'd more than likely disagree with your statement. An accurate boxer can do to an mma fighter what Conor did to Aldo once in range. Which is probably why you see more one punch KO's and chicken leg dances in boxing than mma.
@housestyles3 ай бұрын
@@Iceburgg I understand that boxers have precision strikes and train on how to get the knockout. They however, have no defence against a takedown, leg kicks, head kicks, or any type of submission hold. They are at a huge disadvantage unless they can get in close range to throw fists.
@Iceburgg3 ай бұрын
@housestyles valid argument. I was replying to your comment that said no boxer will EVER have a chance. That's not true. For that to be true, you are assuming that the mma fighter will do everything 100% right and the boxer won't. Being skilled in mma does not give you a strength or quickness advantage. It does give you more tools, but you can still get clipped.
