The Sony A100 is a great sub $100 DSLR, if only for one reason (which I'll get to). But it's also full of interesting history. The A100 is Sony's first interchangable lens camera and the first Alpha series camera, a series that continues strong to this day. The new DSLR system didn't come without a price, and it cost the end of a legendary camera company to get there.

Why should you buy the Sony A100 today? short answer: because it gives you access to the A mount, which is full of budget AF vintage lenses.
