It's very important to record everything. Such a hard thing to make yourself do, especially if you're still holding out hope. If not hope for the relationship then hope for fundamental decency. Most states hand out restraining orders fairly readily. They ought to track the phones of people with restraining orders. And jail those who break them as many states do.

In some states you cant use weapons such as a gun otherwise it makes it difficult to argue self defense. Damned if you do & damned if you don’t hopefully all societies aid people before they become victims in the future.

It’s supposedly really hard on a psychological level, to consider red flags while the brain is in the “honeymoon phase”. The mind’s ego walls soften and you’re more likely to forgive slights. A person has to take their personal limits more seriously and not allow those limits to be crossed

If you need to get away from someone toxic, do it. I have waited, and then had to deal with it later, when it was worse. I have left whole house with thousands in furniture to be free. Financially, quit your job, if it pays high.to get sober i quit my well paying hi stress job and lived poor for 5 years and then went back to work a low paying simple job helping me stay humble. Should be illegal to Google someone over 31 times a month ( let alone 40k) and an automatic protection order should be the result with victim notification immediately after 10 times. It is reasonable for someone to be googled multiple times for collection purposes- which should ( and often does in 3rd party collections)require a security clearance level / license.
