38:47 The two are denser than tungsten and would even drown in the Dead Sea. The fact that they didn't notice anything when Sophie burned all the mementos and gifts she had received from the two of them over time and threw the gifts in the trash in front of her door really speaks volumes.

WTF she had camera evidence of the framing and insults. But no one believed her. Hit her with her a damn car and they trying to excuse her. And she wrote them a letter saying that she was severing all ties with them. So that just disappeared huh.

Given their behavior, I wonder why they adopted Helen in the first place if they obviously don't care about Sophie. Helen was only adopted so that she could serve as a replacement for Sophie, so that she wouldn't be married to Henry, who was in a coma. Not only did they successfully and deliberately thwart this plan, but in an attempt to save her from a forced marriage, Sophie is almost killed twice. Her parents, her brother and her childhood friend are really up to scratch, especially after what happened at her birthday party. To be honest, that reminds me of the three wise monkeys.

Hell no I would have called the cops. Hitting someone with a vehicle is a serious thing. Truly glad Sophie is cutting all ties to her family. Once married, I wouldn't help any of my family members. Would tell the groom's family they don't need to give my ex family anything.

Skipped much of the abusive parts. Got it the first time round. Didn't leave much to the imagination of the reader - and the narrator voice - don't know if you're telling a story or gossiping.
