He’s actually an introvert but in order to be an idol, he needs to be extroverted (as in he needs to be talkative etc). That’s why he needs the time to heal, to gain back all the energy he spent when he’s on his job. He’s so sweet and hardworking yet people target him for the mistakes he made. I hope people remember that he’s only 20 years old and more importantly a human being who should be able to do what he wants instead of what the “fans” want. Can some of the people here stop acting like being an introvert is a sad/poor thing that the person needs caring or pitying? As an introvert myself, I find it uncomfortable with how some of you pity jaemin for being introverted at times. Tbh he wasn’t even extroverted in the first place. He, along with most other fellow introverts, seem loud and active but that’s because we’re around the people we are most comfortable with. It gets really tiring to keep up with so many people so naturally we’ll have to go back to our shells to recharge. And I think that’s the misconception with jaemin. He would look sad or disturbed but I’d say he was just distancing himself to rest a little bit and give some time for himself to reboot. I noticed it with some of their tv guestings that he wasn’t as loud as he is in their vlives and nct daily shows. I would think that he was a little more active in their latest guesting on weekly idol bec he’s more comfortable and familiar with eunhyuk and kwanghee. Jaemin for me is this delicate human being who treasures the people he is close with since he hasn’t have a lot of them. I hope that, as fans, instead of pitying him, we should cheer him on and be happy for him as he found his lifelong friends in the members. You could see how much he loves his dreamie brothers 😊

I totally agree with you! I’m an introvert with rbf and sometimes ppl would mistook my tone of voice as harsh like as if I’m acting as a bitch, but that’s just my how I naturally speak. People would get mad at me for that - and it’s sad that those ppl were sometimes my family. That’s why I don’t talk too much, at least as much as I want as an introvert and I would usually get anxiety when talking to new people. The only time I can be myself and talk free is when I talk to my close friends

What's with the comments? Being an introvert isn't really sad. Sometimes we feel so tired of talking and interacting with people and just want to observe. We're only active to people we're comfortable with and that's how most nct members are. You don't have to comfort Jaemin and feel sad for him, we introverts like having a quiet time. It drained me talking to people all the time and I enjoyed being by myself and hanging out with my small group of friends.

Same, I used to get so exhausted when I went to school, I don't go anymore I'm being homeschooled. The thing is though I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, so constantly feeling anxious left me drained, plus Depression but I never knew about it. But it got worse to the point it started to really affect me physically so they had to take me out and homeschool me. Have been homeschooled for about 1-2 years now.

If you’re really a fan that keep up with them you will realize jaemin is that member that is really distant. When I'm outside, I usually have this cheery mood and I would talk and joke around with my friends but it's not all the time because there's time where i would just stay silent and just smiling at whatever they say. When I came home I usually stay in my room, be silent and all, but that's just how I recharge you know bc socializing get really tiring for me, it basically draining all the energy I have especially when it comes to strangers. @@ijustdoedits4224 I hadn't heard about the rumours (I can't see why it'd be a problem for him to date an older woman - honestly I actually like it when idols date because I like the cute content but also hate the hate they get) but if they're not dating, and even if they are, these kind of rumours can be damaging. Especially in SM (idk why, but it seems that things can be more problematic to do with dating in SM). Whether the rumours are true or false (I'm guessing false as I haven't heard anything and I'm leaning towards this until someone says he is), it's damaging. It would be awkward for Jaemin to greet people and he would feel burdened by this. True fans won't leave, but fake-fans always seems to make a lot of noise. That's what I've always found. I hope that he soon begins to feel more secure and return to his usual self.

It makes sense actually. Some may be shocked because on camera he's always smiling and full of energy. I guess he just does that for fan service. Maybe it's why members are weirded out when he acts his crackheaded self ("what's w/ you?", "jaemin is being weird today"). When the spotlight is not on him, he reverts back to his usual introvertedness. Being an introvert doesnt mean you hate socializing; you can socialize but only for a limited time until you get worn out. I see that in him

Why do people feel sorry for him when he's just being himself? He's an introvert, he's an ISFJ and he's probably just trying to recover from acting like an extrovert, and keep in mind that he could be uncomfortable because of unfamiliar people. I myself am an introvert (INTJ), and feel really uncomfortable around unfamiliar people, and whenever I "extrovert" I just need some time for myself to recover from that because that's how I regain my energy, and I feel better spending time alone. I can't help but think why do we introverts act like extroverts in order to "fit in" and blend in with the others, but extroverts don't bother put themselves in our shoes to at least understand us instead of saying that they feel sad for us because "we are introverts".

Some people might think that education is important, well me too. But most people use their education degree to pursue their dreams career too, and for his case, he already has his path to reach his dreams. When he said the members are his only friends, i really felt that. Some people might think its pity or what but pls don't think like that. It gives us kinda awkward feeling that some of u are thinking that is awfull when it wasn't. I think just like nana, we choose our friends and kept them forever. I just got into NCT a month ago and I noticed that Jaemin had the characteristics of an introvert. I'm an introvert myself and I was just wondering if he actually was. Now that I know his MBTI personality and seeing these videos have now confirmed that he is indeed an introvert. I'm glad that NCT has many introverts in their group. It's rare when I find a group that has introverts. I'm glad that these idols are showing their true selves it makes me happy and I feel more connected to them.

This is one of the sides of him I relate to so much and that's probably why he's one of my ults. He's so active and carefree around people he's close with but having to interact with people (and face the camera as well) could be so exhausting that's why he needs his time alone to recharge. I hope people don't think this is something pitiful. I'm an introvert too and it's honestly very VERY exhausting to deal with people (even very nice people) all day everyday. Being a celebrity involves more than just singing and dancing on stage. It also requires a lot of socialising and meeting different new people. That must be pretty difficult for Jaemin. I can understand why he would want to drink that much coffee everyday in order to boost his energy. When I'm at home, I just peacefully watch films/play games/read/write etc. at my own. It is just like what Jaemin said - to recharge mental batteries. Please don't assume that introvert people are sad or lonely when we're alone. That "lonely time" is actually very important for us.

I'm an introvert too. And I really understand him. I don't have what you called best friend coach I never hang out with anyone. I have acquaintance but never thought them my friends I can say I just know that. Jaemin is still lucky to have Dreamies beside him who understands him. And I can say this is probably the reason why he is so clingy and love skinship with all the members. Like me once I felt like I'm very comfortable with someone I always hug, kiss and hold hands with them. And Jaemin always do that with the members. Na Jaemin is a typical AB blood type. He's so weird, even he can't understand himself. He has the introvert side of A and extrovert side of B. Actually I'm not surprised to see him quite, I mean, he's always like that, a lot of ups and downs. This not only happens at this time but also many times before. I can totally understand him. He's not being aloof guys, he just doesn't have the energy to sustain conversations because he needs to recharge his social battery.
