There was a story a while back about feet that kept washing up on some Canadian beach - something like over ten of them over the space of 3 years, if I recall correctly. The beach was 'downcurrent' from a bridge that was popular with people looking to take their own lives. The articles posited that the feet kept being found because, while the rest of the body would sink, feet still in their shoes would be buoyant - so much so that it would eventually cause the decaying ankle joint to give, and the foot in the shoe bobs to the surface and goes floating along on the current to its final destination. The cases you mentioned here sound like similar circumstances.
@CuriousWorldProductions2 жыл бұрын
Ah, that was likely the cause. When I read about the case, I assumed the feet had been severed by hand. Makes more sense when you consider the young man's car was found on the bridge.

There’s a great book about the 1913 flood called Washed Away. Very harrowing. My family is from Johnstown PA and I live in Houston so we know a thing or two historic floods - lived through some, too. If you haven’t been in one, it’s hard to comprehend how utterly destructive a force floodwater is, even if it creeps up slowly. It is insidious. Homeowners’ insurance doesn’t generally cover floods - I advise people to look into their policies, into their city planning, and consider it!

You don't have any evidence it was murder. Murder requires premeditation and there is just no evidence of that. Low and behold, as the days pass and there's more pressure on police and detectives to find and prosecute the killer or offender, they will go with what they have~innocent or guilty. We still have rights in America (for now) to ask for legal representation. It pisses me off too that the saying goes "innocent until proven guilty...etc". Starting about the same time as the feet were found in the UK/Netherlands, feet in trainers were also showing up on the shores of the bays near the Golden Gate bridge in California. But it's a huge concidence that at that time missing feet were being found in all sorts of different countries.

Great to see a new upload from you! I'm saddened but not surprised you didn't hear back from the Indiana Historical Society. There's a lot of controversy about Native American remains and graveyards in the US at the moment. They probably don't want to publicize the fact they have no idea where the remains ended up. Worse yet, they may be on display somewhere, or in a private collection. Related to this, you might want to look into the work being done to find and repatriate the remains of Native children from boarding schools in the US and Canada from the 19th and 20th centuries. During that time, Native children were taken away from their families and tribes and put into schools to be "Westernized". They were forbidden to speak their native languages, abused, and many died. They were buried on the grounds of the schools, often unmarked. Some survivors of the schools are still alive today. The Pope recently made an apology tour in Canada, as many of these schools were run by the Catholic Church.

It consisted of their ' sacred figures ' Father, Mother and child ' Beautifully created out of wood, shells and hand made beads . Created to be worshipped and then stolen away to eventually end up in a display . It felt so wrong . As a Brit I am well aware of how much heritage from other countries has been appropriated to fill our museums also 😥 Many collectors are just damn stealers.
