Personally and as a Gen Z, this topic has been something ive unintentionally deepened into during my childhood. At one point, I had realised how self-destructive psychology can be if misused, and instead only used it for my own personal growth. Alhamdulillah, that knowledge had also helped me with my deen aswell. I won't claim to be an expert at it, but I will say I have always been keen at noticing it even before media influence.

Some trauma you keep with you until you meet your rab. Seek allahs help through patience perseverance and salah and keep trying and one day allah will be pleased with you in sha allah and you will be pleased with him and he will fill your heart with his jannah and will remove every lingering sense of injury upon it that heart of yours. When i think about trauma i remember the hadith about how a man will be dipped into jannah for like a second and then will be asked about his suffering on earth and he wont even remember any of it because jannah is so amazing it just made them completely forget their past traumas.

I think people are missing the point here. Western psychology in itself is not the problem, in fact it is a very great tool to understand the self. The problem lies when we ONLY pursue western therapy and self indulge in our own experience WITHOUT seeking truth in Islam / Quran alongside therapy. The best is to practice both together, remaining grounded & humble and keeping strong iman, taqwah & tawakkul. Also it is important to remember the only one we should seek guidance from is Allah swt, not other people. But that doesn’t mean we cannot benefit from these practitioners either.

"People experience various calamities in life. As the Quran says, "ما أصاب من مصيبة إلا بإذن الله" (No disaster strikes except by the permission of Allah). The question then arises: Why does Allah allow such terrible things to happen? In this verse, Allah teaches us a profound lesson: "ومن يؤمن بالله يهدي قلبه" (Whoever truly has faith in Allah, Allah will guide their heart). This means that when we face anxiety, anger, pain, sadness, or frustration-perhaps feeling that someone has escaped justice or that life is unfair-if our hearts are steadfast in iman (faith) in Allah, He will guide us through these challenging emotions."🖤 These words will stand as timeless wisdom until the end of days.

Gaslighting isn't telling someone the truth. It's denying to accept their truth and making them feel they are wrong.

@@ayeshaamjad3408yet there are people ACTUALLY experiencing severe gaslighting from family members and very real abuse but it’s extremely rare to see sheiks addressing this in detailed videos or long lectures. You see now that young people, Especially young men, get aquatinted with Stoicism to learn how to live life with pain and suffering.

Before i reverted to islam i got a deep depression but i went to a imam a friend of mine advised me to go and talk to him i felt better i then would see lectures or read about islam and i would feel better it kept me alive. I then decided to go to phycologist for 4 years. I stoped totally my spirituality even mentioning in islam she would get angry and not respond at all. It helped nothing all those years, i would loose my jobs, complain, blame people,hate.. lived basically in a invisible dark world! I totally pushed GOD completely away. I then about 2 weeks ago lying in bed with a low self, sad, tiredness decided to just after a very very long time listen to a ruqyah for magic, evil eye, business. The very next day i felt lighter more better and slowly moving back to seeing islamic lectures and reading. My life is changing and good things are happening to me. Allahu Akbar 🤲❤

Forgiveness takes so much strength, I think a lot of people misunderstand that. Western culture often perceives forgiveness as a sign of weakness and submission towards ‘the enemy.’ And forgiveness can also be done in silence and through prayer… so walking away and letting a conflict be can sometimes be a sign of forgiveness. So not “out of sight, out of mind” but “forgiven and not forgotten, but out of mind”

Subhanallah wa jazzak Allah khair Nouman! Being born into the digital generation myself, I can elucidate how we as a generation and societies are attached to psychology to heal all our problems- that somewhere along the line or making, we forgot to include our faith and to all Muslims I say- ALLAH AJA WA JAL. Its gotten so problematic we might think we all know best, but we're all being lead astray by our judgements and persistence to be ignorant in the name of "self-help" books and gurus all over the Internet nowadays. We have conditioned ourselves so extensively to just follow one another on their foottracks if they went through a similar situation and appear to be doing just fine afterwards; without heed to what the quran says about these situations. Again I say this to all believers of Islam. I don't want to leave a long comment that might just get ignored by viewers but i hope this khutba left you contemplaing more about this fact like it left me. As a Ummah who are meant to redirect eachother and unify ourselves not seperate* we need to do better to notice the waking calls of our kufr.
