Here in the uk As soon as a police officer starts reading you your rights There is two things you can basically do (Providing they have a valid reason to nick ya) 1:- you can get on your toes IE …. Run ! 2:- do nothing and go back to the station ! About skip scanning. What if the machine malfunctions, or it's AI detects a skipped item when I didn't skip the item? One time when I was shopping at Walmart and I went to a self checkout, the Machine said on the screen for me to wait there because it suspected I skipped an item. I had multiple things of the same item. Then, one of the workers came to my scanner. I saw the machine play back the video of me scanning right there. I didn't have to go to the office. The video was right on the scanner. The worker saw that I did not skip scanning any items and approved those purchases. Machines do make mistakes sometimes.
