As far as I remember - at least currently - the rule is that any part you are allowed to play the ball with counts - the part closest to the goal that is. So it doesn't even matter where his feet are - even though the foot in front is also already closer to the goal than the backfoot of the defender.

At 4:30, Rashford OBVIOUSLY interfered with the ball...he was babysitting it for at least twenty yards, basically hand-holding it until the other player got there. Ref should be fired for overruling that offside call. Pathetic. Same at 5:24...28 pretty much starts offside and stays offside right up until he heads the ball into the net. The shot @ 5:29 shows him way offside and that never changes until he heads the ball.

Yep, it's a basic rule for offsides that's been around for decades. You're not offside as long as you don't interfere with the play. Refs aren't the brightest fellows. I mean they work as refs for a reason. It's not like you're going to get a rocket scientist.

The De Bruyne one is the legal way, he stopped and got out of the way of the ball and opposing players. That is ok, moving along the ball is not ok. Even obscuring vision of the ball to the keeper is not ok, can't do that.

When the free kick is actually shot, cause this is when the off or onside counts and not before, there is a defender in the back that covers everyone. This is not smart play. This is bad defence.
