I'm almost 40 years old and I can VIVIDLY remember, one day, playing sick because I did not want to go to school. My momma made me stay in the bed all day and night too. I could only get up to pee. When I tell you, I never was sick again. Even when I was sick, I didn't want to stay home. That was pure torture!!!

I remember when I pretended to have a stomach ache to stay home from school (3rd or 4th grade, I think) and my grandmother made me take a big spoonful of castor oil with lemon juice (she said lemon juice would make it go down better...chile, i bout threw up! ). After that, she made me lay down all day! Let me tell you, I NEVER pretended to be sick again. Staying home from school in my household was not fun! Lol!

My poor baby wasn't playing, but I couldn't tell if he was lying and I needed to go to work. So, the school nurse was my baby sitter a few times. She asked me if I had a thermometer. I said no. Oddly, I don't recall him having another episode after that time. Fast forward, when he got grown and started working, he woke up one day feeling ill. I told him to stay home. He said, no, I have to go to work.
