@@CritiasBG An extremely logical response 🤪 Way to articulate. MJF is the only reason AEW is even watched. He moves the ratings needle unlike anyone frankly since Stone Cold and the NWO. Randy didn’t bring ppl back to watching the worst eras in professional wrestling history - the ruthless aggression and then PG eras. Randy might be the only top 30 guy ever who’s only ever worked for one company. His finisher is a knockoff diamond cutter (it’s the same move actually), so Styles was right when he said that. The best promos are when truth is told in such a way that we at home can’t tell what is real and where the script begins or ends (or if it’s totally off script). By comparison, I’ve shown the CM Punk pipebomb and MJF pipebomb to my non wrestling watching family members and friends. My simple questions were - which one is better? And which one seems like it’s 100% real? MJF won unanimously, and Punk actually got lifetime fans since the 80’s like me who stopped watching the product altogether to watch this CM Punk guy. I was never impressed by his athleticism (bc he has none), but his mic skills take a backseat to few. Punk is a better mic worker than Randy, can we agree on that? Well MJF is better at that (and in ring WORK) than Punk ever was. Randy is a phenomenal athlete who could have come up with his own finisher. But the WWE didn’t want to acknowledge DDP, so they used Randy’s initials to do what the WWE PR and creative teams do best. Rewrite history to suit them. Randy is phenomenal. One of the best of his generation. But MJF is the best of his. He’s better than Reigns inside the ropes as a wrestler and talker, and Reigns is a star of the highest order - since his heel turn, he’s put on better shows than Randy ever did - even though he got to work with prime Taker and tons of other legends. With smart booking, he became “The Legend Killer.” MJF doesn’t have smart booking, but that’s not his fault. He is, however a smart businessman. Just like Will Ospreay is better all around than Ricochet, and ppl can talk all the 💩 about AEW. they want. I agree. But Will is making 7 figures a year on a 3 year guaranteed deal. Ricochet started at $250k which can only be earned if you show up to all 300 dates. AEW requires half that and it’s also guaranteed money. I’d rather perform in a stadium that seats 100,000 and just have my wife or mom (or both for two fans) in the arena and make 7 figures guaranteed than I would a full stadium but making 1/10 of that. MJF got the tat in a smart place bc he’ll be in the WWE one day. Mark my words. If he’s booked correctly like AJ Styles was when he came on board, Max will once again move the needle for ratings. That’s the number that matters here. Only Stone Cold has moved the ratings needle more than MJF. Austin did it for a company that was dying. MJF has done it for a company no one had ever heard of right around the same time AEW was born. In 5 years of TV exposure, Max has done the impossible. No WWE. No New Japan. Yet he is by far the biggest star AEW has…and he did that straight from CZW…and he just turned 27. Mark this down 💀 guy. He’s got a ton left in the tank. Keep watching his career. When it’s all said and done, we can objectively compare the two. Bc MJF is already a first ballot HOFer in AEW and should be the first. He’s the only one of the 4 pillars who does a damn thing. He’s out dueled the best the sport has on the mic, and matched or exceeded guys like Bryan Danielson, who even Meltzer had to rate that Iron Man match at almost 6 stars (5.75). And Dave hates MJF. But the Iron Man match was the best ever for North American wrestling. His dog collar match vs Punk is the best dog collar match ever. Two of the most difficult styles to wrestle, and both are already the best ever. And he was 25 and 26 when they happened….so let’s give him time. Randy by comparison was 24 when the WWE put the title on him. MJF was 26 when AEW put the belt on him. WWE could and would have continued with or without Randy. AEW never would have picked up steam in the beginning with just Cody, Jericho, and Omega. A 50yo heel vs two good guys whose gimmicks I’m not a fan of. And on and on I could go… That’s how you make an argument. Wishing 💀 on someone for having an opinion you disagree with is an indictment on your intelligence, not mine or my opinion. Have a good one 💀 guy. Hopefully we can have a proper debate about this.

​​@@KinnereyBI'm 6 months late, but I don't care. MJF has become nothing but a parody of himself. Same old boring schtick every single week. He doesn't try reinventing himself at all. I like MJF, but lately he hasn't done anything for me. If he wasn't allowed to swear or be edgy he wouldn't be over. That's about the extent of his appeal. I can't deny that he's entertaining and has had a few good feuds and one legendary one, but I don't think he's in the conversation of being an all-time great wrestler. Not yet anyway. He needs something different and fresh and he desperately has to evolve.
