Clara is so passive aggressive. I love this episode because it showed Clara that The Doctor has a past and a present that she's not a part of, and she needs to respect that. At this time in the show she isn't quite there yet because she's still a little smitten with him, but these realizations are important because they set up the dynamic between Clara and 12

Do you really think so? I mean, I think River would find Rose sweet & be calm enough that she would eventually put Rose at ease & not be defensive about "her Doctor". Besides, I think 10 will always be Rose's Doctor. He was with her during his regeneration. His whole being changed more for her. Even his accent. I think River (especially later in her life) would be realistic & accepting about others loving & being loved by the Doctor. Though she was also probably hurt by Clara's comment.
