Found a 15-year old pair of Pearl Izumis! Godspeed, Coach. Been a very positive racing season for me. Placed first overall in a 12-hour mountain race for the first time in a few years thanks to your patient encouragement last January.

Man I need to get up there. My son is a commercial pilot and flies into Jackson Hole frequently and sends me amazing photos.

Another great video with great advice and beautiful scenery! I’ve never run on a trail, but watching you makes me want to run up into the mountains of Eastern KY where we live now lol. Shooting you an email to your coaching account. Thanks again for all the incredible info you’ve put out over the years!

Give it a try! It’s a whole new, wonderful world. Just don’t expect the same pace you bang out on the roads,or you’ll get frustrated.

I feel like I have yet to find a favorite. Every trail shoe I’ve tried has some fit or grip issue. I’ll keep searching lol 😂. Great video as always! Great things to think about.

Thanks Eric for taking the time to put this together, great vlog. My daily casual shoes are a pair of Inov8 G280's, so that, as you say, I take the opportunity with every step to strengthen my feet. By the way I still have an original pair of B2R split toe shoes I ordered back in 2013, that I don't run in but wear them casually occasionally and every time I do someone will comment on them. Lol As most of my running is on buffed trail, fire access Rd and pavement, I use the Noosa Tri 14's with a 4mm drop and an oldish Novablast V2 with an 8mm drop when my legs are tired.

Nnormal Kjerag....I have similar terrain to you (just add red clay and volcanic rock/dust for fun)...it's the best mix of grip, protection, and proprioceptive feedback I have found for technical terrain.

Yes love mine. Have about 140k in them so far and very unique shoe and love it more and more. Looking forward to more of your series on the Kboix.

Hi Eric, I love your videos, also because you always take time to show and share the nature around you. My preferred trail shoes is the Inov8 Trailfly G270: the upper is a bit stiff, but the midsole and the outsole are perfect for me: nimble, very natural feel yet still protective against those sharp rocks. When the running gets tough I just laugh at myself, in a positive way 🙂I love running and I love being in the nature; so if I forget about that for a moment because now I'm hurting and I still have 50k to go, I just need to take a moment, raise my head and look around me, to remember that this is beautiful, that's why I'm here, how lucky am I? Time to have fun!

Thanks for the video! I'm newer to running so have been trying to figure out shoes. I love my Xero's and am not comfortable anymore in shoes that aren't zero drop. I've been looking for zero drop shoes that have a little more cushion than my Xero's but haven't found anything that works for me yet.
@Kelly_BenАй бұрын
Have you tried Altras? I don't remember the version that has cushion, maybe Olympus?
@maryannjohnson5410Ай бұрын
@@Kelly_Ben I have tried one pair don't remember which one. I liked the cushion but not the way it fit around my heel. Maybe I'll try a different one.

Great video , Trying to plan out my shoes for this race I got coming up in December . The interesting INOV-8 v2 I trip a lot But my V1 are great kinda like I’m running in my Luna sandals just more protective and I never trip never fall. Feel very stable.. I must have some weakness or something that the little bit wider toebox or something makes me lose control. I don’t know the shoe the best for the race.
@BornToRunCoachАй бұрын
@@toddboucher3302 I had several athletes who did not like V2 and thought it was much different. I would use V1 if still in good condition?!
