What kind of pc do you have and is there any alternative to the fm3? I'm looking to start making guitar covers and want that amazing sound without having to spend too too much on equipment. I wouldn't mind investing in my set up to get that crispy sound for songs like this but I need a good starting point and I can't find any videos on KZbin explaining a good pc to buy along with a good interface.

I built the pc so it’s to my own specs (tbh my cousin is the computer guy and helped me with it 😂 it’s pretty beefy though, you don’t need anything super crazy). I’m just using the free version of davinci for my video editing and i use reaper for my daw and record the FM3 direct into the pc with a printer cable. If on a budget, get an interface (scarlet 2i2 is what i have only like 170 bucks) and get some studio monitors (i have the kali LP6’s) and then some neural dsp plugins (i use nameless and cali) and you can just plug your guitar into the interface and record directly into the computer. Before i had my fm3 that’s how i did all my covers. The FM3 is def better and more versatile, but to get a few plugins, the interface, and monitors is all cheaper than just the FM3 alone (which will still require monitors on top of it). Search up the neural dsp stuff you’ll be really impressed!

I appreciate the reply man! I will look into what you suggested and I can always upgrade. Can you do me a favor and ask your cousin what pre built pc's I could buy to run everything I would need for guitar covers starting out. I wouldn't mind spending $500-$1000 on all I would need total for just starting guitar recordings.

Also love the Schecter! I'm looking to get one for my 3rd guitar and I can't wait to use it. I use a LTD ec256 and an Epiphone SG but the Schecter has been calling my name for years.

@@MattRguitarr I love my Schecters for sure! My EII Horizon is my main guitar and it is hands down the best instrument I've ever played, but if staying under 1k or so, Schecter has the market cornered if you're into this type of music. The Hellraisers are the best bang for your buck. I have the 6 string and 7 string hellraiser and they smack. Honestly man for a PC it really doesn't take much to do basic audio/video processing. Look for something with an AMD Ryzen 5 or better CPU, thats going to be the biggest factor in your speed. I have an OLD GTX1060 graphics card (can be had now for like 150-200 bucks since its so outdated) and it is still serving me well. 16gb of DDR4 RAM would do you well too. If you find something with those specs at minimum you should be all good to go. I recommend building one if you're able (you'll get a better PC at a better price) but if going prebuilt, the specs above are pretty common and you'll have plenty of power to do it :) The audio processing can take quite a bit of power but there are lots of little tricks like freezing tracks once you have them mixed that will save you a ton of RAM.
