The meeting of the jinn at sea can be seen as representing an ocean of fuel for the shayateen to fan the flames within a community by start rumours, suspicion and cause distrust. If we look at the lives of the early Muslims and the challenges that they would face it would be a good common norm to follow to help identify suspicious actors/events e.g. losing/misplace items, people form different parts uniting etc in those times. Every second is highly valued and the allocation of time is an essential part of our Deen so it has to be a critical need to spend time at night to ensure unity, integrity so that a positive lifestyle is promoted. Also it would be difficult to help a person as society wasn’t as developed and it would place more burdens upon the community.

Ibn Qayyim : "Repel the thought, for if you don’t, it becomes an idea. So repel the idea; for if you don’t it will become a desire. So fight against that (desire), for if you don’t, it will become a determination and a passion. And if you don’t repel that, it will become an action. And if you don’t replace it with its opposite, it will become a constant habit. So at that point, it will be difficult for you to change it.” "If you were to say: ‘What is the way to safeguarding the thoughts?’ I say: through many factors: The First of them: The definitive knowledge of the awareness of The Lord, The Most High, and of His Seeing your heart, and His Knowledge of the detail of your thoughts. The Second: Your shyness from Him. The Third: Your esteemed exaltation for Him, that He should see the like of such thoughts in His abode which He created, to understand Him and to love Him. The Fourth: Your fear of Him in that you should fall from His Eye on account of those thoughts. The Fifth: Your preference for Him in that your heart should afford residence to anything other than love of Him. The Sixth: Your fear that those thoughts should generate forth, and that their emitting sparks should kindle ablaze, and thus consume that which is in your heart from Eeman and love of Allaah, and that it should take it away altogether - and yet you do not notice. The Seventh: You should know that those thoughts hold the position of the grain (seed) that is thrown to the bird in order to hunt for prey with it. So know that every single thought from it; then it is a grain in a snare set up in order to hunt you - and yet you do not notice. The Eighth: You should know that those bad thoughts, they along with the thoughts of Eemaan and the causes of love and turning repentantly - do not come together at all, rather they are their opposites from every perspective, and the two do not convene into the heart except that one of them will overcome the other - and will expel it, and will settle down in its place. So what then is the assumption of a heart in which the thoughts of the soul and Satan have overcome the thoughts of Eemaan and love and understanding - and so expels them, and settles down in their place? However; were there any life for the heart, it would have felt pain due to that, and would have come to sense what it was afflicted with. The Ninth: It should be known that those thoughts are a sea from the oceans of the imagination that has no shoreline for it, thus if the heart enters into its submerging depths - it drowns within it, and strays in its darknesses. So it seeks deliverance from it, yet does not find a way to it, so the thoughts; they alienate the heart far from salvation, chastised, preoccupied with that which is of no avail. The Tenth: Those thoughts, they are the valley of the foolish and the aspirations of the ignorant ones, therefore it does not yield for its associate anything except regret and disgrace, and if it gains ascendancy over the heart, it appoints it a legacy of (satanic) whisperings, and dismisses it from its sovereignty, and corrupts its subjects upon it, and casts it into prolonged captivity." (Tareeq al-Hijratain)

Here are some motivating tips from Allah and the Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) to help you raise your degrees in Jannah as well as increase your property in Shaa Allah. I) Raise your degrees 1) Memorising the Quran Abd-Allah Ibn 'Amr narrated that the Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"It will be said to the companion of the Quran : Recite and rise in status, recite as you used to recite in the world, for your status will be at the last verse that you recite." [ Tirmidhi and Abu Dawood ] 2) Doing a lot of dhikr Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"Shall I not inform you the best and the purest of your deed in the sight of your Master, which is the highest in your degrees, is superior to your spending gold and silver in charity, and is better than confronting and fighting against your enemy, cutting one another's necks?". The companions submitted :"Yes, indeed!". He (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"It is remembering Allah." [ Sahih Tirmidhi ] 3) Doing good deeds(at least compulsory good deeds) and staying away from bad deeds Allah said :" And whoever comes to Him (Allah) as a believer, and has done righteous good deeds, for such are the high ranks (in the Hereafter)." (Quran 20:75) 4) Doing a lot of nawafil (non compulsory deeds) According to Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :" Allah said :" Whosoever shows enmity to someone devoted to Me, I shall be at war with him. My servant draws near to Me with anything more loved by Me than the religious duties I have enjoined upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory works so that I shall love him. When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it. I do not hesitate about anything as much as I hesitate about [seizing] the soul of My faithful servant : he hates death and I hate hurting him." [ Bukhari ] 5) How to earn Jannat ul-Firdaws (highest degree in Jannah) Allah said :"1) Certainly the believers have succeeded : 2) They who are during their prayer humbly submissive, 3) And they who turn away from ill speech, 4) And they who are observant of Zakah, 5) And they who guard their private parts, 6) Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed, 7) But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors, 8) And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive, 9) And they who carefully maintain their prayers, 10) Those are the inheritors, 11) Who will inherit Al-Firdaws. They will abide theirein eternally." (Quran 23 : 1-11) 6) Making a sincere du'aa that you desire Jannat ul-Firdaws It was recorded in the Two Sahihs that the Messenger of Allah (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"If you ask Allah for Paradise, then ask Him for Al-Firdaws for it is the highest part of Paradise, in the middle of Paradise, and from it spring the rivers of Paradise, and above it is the Throne of the Most Merciful." [ Bukhari and Muslim ] II) Increase your property II-1) How to build a palace 1) Reciting 10 times surah 'Ikhlas' The Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:"Whoever recites Qul huwallaahu aHad (Surah Ikhlaas) ten times, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise." [Saheeh al-Jaami’ al-Sagheer, 6472)] PS : It is a very easy way to earn a palace and it only takes about one minute. So you can earn 10 palaces in 10 minutes. Don't waste this great opportunity and try to make this a motivating habit and earn as many palaces as you can. 2) Praying 12 rak'aat in a day Narrated by Umm Habibah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"A house will be built in Heaven for one who prays 12 Sunnat Rak'aat in a day and evening as follows : 4 rak'aat before and 2 after the Dhur Prayer, 2 after the Maghrib Prayer, 2 after the 'Ishaa' Prayer and 2 before the Fajr Prayer." [ Tirmidhi ] PS : According to the scholars, the 4 rak'aat should be performed by 2 prayers of 2 rak'aat 3) Building a masjid The Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"Whoever builds a masjid (mosque) for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise." [ Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim ] 4) Abandoning arguments and lies and improving your behaviour Abu Umamah (RA) narrated that the Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"I am a guarantor for a house on the outskirts of Paradise for whosoever leaves off arguing, even if he is in the right; and a house in the center of Paradise for whosoever abandons falsehood, even when joking; and a house in the upper-most part of Paradise for whosoever makes his character good." [ Abu Dawud ] II-2) How to earn other great things in your property 1) A tree in Jannah Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud (RA) reported that the Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"I met Nabi Ibrahim (AS) when I was taken on Mi'aj (ascension to the heavens) and he told me :"O Muhammad, convey my salam (greetings) to your ummat and tell them that Jannah has good soil and sweet water, but it is barren. The plantation of Jannah is (the recital of) Subhan'Allah, Alhamdulill'AH? La ilaha illa Allah and Allahu Akbar." [ Sunan Tirmidhi, hadith: 3462. Imam Tirmidhi has classified his hadith as sound (hasan) ] PS : It is time to build our own huge forests in Shaa Allah. So let's get motivated. 2) A palm tree in Jannah Hadhrat Jaa'bir (RA) narrated that the Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"For the person who recites 'SUBHAN'ALLAH HIL AZEEM WA BIHAMDIHI' (Pure and Perfect is Allah in his glory and praise], - A date palm will be planted for him in Paradise". [ Tirmidhi ] 3) Treasures of Jannah Hadhrat Abu Dharr (RA) narrated that the Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :" Should I not tell you of one treasure of the unlimited treasures of Paradise?" I replied spontaneously "Oh Rasulallah (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) that would be an honor indeed!" Rasulallah (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"That rare is 'LA HAWLA WA LA QUWWATA ILLA BILLAH."(There is no power and no strength except with Allah) [ Ibn Majah ] 4) A particular amazing room Abdallah Ibn 'Amr (RA) narrated that the Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"There is a room in Paradise whose outside is seen from its inside and whose inside is visible from its outside." So Abou Malk Al Ach'ari (MA) asked :"For whom is it, O Messenger of Allah?". He (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"These rooms will belong to the ones who speak good words, feed the poor, they fast and pray at night when people are at sleep." [ Reported by Tabarani and authenticated bu Shaykh Albani in Sahih Targhib No. 617) PS : These 4 conditions can be done during Ramadan since we have to fast, speak good, feed the poor (even if just once) and pray at night when people are asleep (after Taraweeh for example). So let's all strive for this amazing room. 5) Hoor Al Ain (women of Paradise) The Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said :"Whoever suppresses anger and he is able to act upon it, then Allah (SWT) will call him on the day of judgement in front of everyone and make him choose whichever one of the women of Paradise he wants (of Al hoor Al Ayn)". [ Sahih Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud ] 6) An honorable place in Jannah Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever goes to the mosque in the morning and evening, Allah will prepare for him a place in Paradise for every morning and evening.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 631, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 669 PS : Let's not let go of all of these wonderful rewards. Try to supplicate this dua every single day to become a habit. 1. Dua That Guarantees You Forgiveness (Sahih Al-Bukhari) Prophet Muhammad SAW (PBUH) said: "Whoever gets up at night and says: La ilaha 'illa Allaahu, wahdahu la shareeka lahul mulku, wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa ala kulli shayin qadeer. Subhana allaahi, wal hamdu lillaahi, wa la illaaha ila Allaah, wa Allaahu akbar, waLa hawla wa la quwwata illa billaah. There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allah Alone, He has no partners, He has the Dominion and for Him is all praise, and He is capable of all things, praise is for Him, and Far is Allah from imperfection, and There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, there is no capability nor is there any power except with Allah. "Then he says: Allaahumma aghfirlee. O Allaah forgive me! Or he supplicates and his supplication is answered, and if he makes Wudhu and prays, then his prayer is accepted. 2. Dua That Guarantees You Jannah (Sahih Al-Jami, An-Nasa'i, Ibn Hibban) Prophet Muhammad SAW (PBUH) said: "Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi, verse 255 from chapter number 2, Surat Al Baqarah after every obligatory prayer, then nothing is stopping him or her from entering Jannah, except one thing: Death." 3. Dua That Wipe Away Sins (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Muslim, At-Tirmidhi) Prophet Muhammad SAW (PBUH) said: "Whoever says: Subhana allaahi, wa bihamdih How far from imperfections Allah is, and I praise Him. "a hundred times during the day, his sins are wiped away, even if they are like the foam of the sea." 4. Phrases That Are Heavier On The Scales Than An Entire Morning Of Recitation (Sahih Muslim) Prophet Muhammad SAW (PBUH) said: "I recited four words three times after I had left you. If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier." These are: Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, 'adada khalqihi, wa rida nafsihi, wa zinatah 'arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi. Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the weight of His Throne and equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise). 5. Dua To Stay On The Right Path (Sahih Muslim) Ya musarrifa-l quloobi sarrif qalbi ala ta’atik. O, Allah! The One Who turns the hearts, turn my heart towards Your obedience. 6. Dua To Be Save From Totrments Of Grave Allahumma inni wa a'udhu bika min adhabil qabri O, Allah! Saves us from the torments of the grave. 7. Dua For The Best In The Dunya And Hereafter Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan, wa fil'akhirati hasanatan, waqina 'adhaban-nar. O, Allah! Our Lord give us all the good of this world, and the good of the hereafter, and Save us from the punishment of the Fire. 8. Dua To Help Pay Off Your Debts (Sahih At-Tirmidhi) Allahum-makfinee bi halaalika 'an haraamika wa aghninee bifadhlika 'amman siwaaka O, Allah! Suffice me with what You have allowed instead of what You have forbidden, and make me independent of all others besides You. 9. Dua Of The Treasures Of Paradise (Sahih Al-Bukhari, At-Tirmidhi) Prophet Muhammad SAW (PBUH) said: "Shall I not tell you of a word which is one of the treasures of Paradise?" La hawla wa la quwaata illa billah There is no power and no strength except with Allah. 10. Dua To Literally Boost Your Energy Before you sleep recite: Subhana allaah 33x, Alhamdulilah 33x, Allahu akbar 34x 11. Dua That Protects You From All Evil (Sahih Ibn Majah) Bismillaahil-lathee laa yadhurru ma'as-mihi shay'un fil-'ardhi wa laa fis-samaa'i wa Huwas-Samee'ul-'Aleem. In the Name of Allah, Who with His Name nothing can cause harm in the earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. 12. Dua To Get Prophet Muhammad SAW (PBUH) Help in Yawm Al Qiyamah (Sahih Al-Bukhari) Prophet Muhammad SAW (PBUH) said: "Whoever says the following, after hearing the call of adhan, the call of prayer I will intercede for them yawm al qiyamah." Allaahumma Rabba haathihid-da 'watit-taammati wassalaatil-qaa'imatah, Aati Muhammadanil-waseelata walfadheelah, Wab 'ath-hu maqaamam-mahmoodanil-lathee wa'adtah. O, Allah! the Lord of this perfect call, and the lord of the prayer that is about to be established, grant Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) al waseela, Resurrect him with that status, that is so praise worthy, which you have already promised. 13. Dua Forgiveness All Believers Allahumma ighfir lil muslimeena wal-muslimaat, wal-mu'mineena wal-mu'minaat, al-ahyaa'i minhom wal-amwat. O, Allah! forgive the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and the believing women, the alive from them and the dead. 14. Do Bad - It's against you. * '' YOUR'' life is a TEST from God that you will choose to do either Good or Bad. * Find the excuse to help others and forgive others NOT the other way around. * '' YOUR '' final destination is either Hell or Heaven. * So work HARD toward choice of YOUR destination. Assalamualeikum, Please do not stress, He will guide you if you ask him to. Also, if you show him that you're willing to make a change. First of all, I would advice you to never stay alone. Shaytaan acts the strongest when there is no one around us, when people are around you, you wouldn't dare to do such a thing right? Just think about how you neglect Allah when you're alone, He is watching you. Constantly remind yourself of his presence. Here is what always works. - Have the will to change. - Pray all 5x prayers. - Every time you feel like that, do wudhu and pray 2 rakah. Or just do wudhu and recite the quran. - Make sincere tobha. - Cut out all temptations, including, staying alone, use your phone on restricted mode and change your age to 10 years old so you are unable to access adult content. Start by doing these, and make lots of dua. I will as well, don't lose hope my brother, Allah will help if you are willing to accept the change. May Allah protect you and guide you 🤲🏻💞
