Nice retelling! I think he punished Asmodeus as the demon delighted in the suffering and corruption of man. Also during the construction of the Temple he punished him thus to keep the demons mind from any mischief. He was bound to do Solomons will to the letter but he was as canny as he was malicious. Carrying the armour and water would have sapped his acuity. It would be harder to plot mischief with all those torments. Also Solomon was probably ready with other trials (holding up his fabled ring and saying 'go take a dip in that river') if he caught Asmodeus working any magic or guile of his own.

Also in general someone needs to create a system which can be used to accurately categorize supernatural entities in a way which avoids confusion and separates them by major category (angel, demon, etc.) and then by origin (Lucifer’s fall, watcher, nephilim, etc.). It could really make it easier for people to find information on the subject in grow interest in the topic. I’d imagine it would primarily use Latin to better resemble how we categorize animals I the real world. - I’m sure a system like this will arise in the future, but in the meantime I may try to create a system like this over the coming year, it may not be perfect, but it will give me something to do during quarantine.

Star of David supposedly has power over demons. I believe the pyramids hold Azayzel and its design was in the same order as the star. Also to survive all of time until judgment. That would include the flood. Which is why I think those shafts allowed water to cycle through and to the bottom as to prevent disintegration over time.
