If it's an allergic reaction to Frontline, then you could try cetirizine. This medication is safe for dogs. Since the dog belongs to the Canin family just like the wolf, it should also be safe for Kane. But be sure to discuss it with a veterinarian. He can then tell you how much should be taken.

I had a dog that had a bad reaction to what the fleas did as they were dying to the frontline, it seemed like they just kept biting a bunch and injecting their saliva, which he was allergic to. Might be worth checking if he's got something similar going on under his coat

I did go to a new vet, since my old vet (and best friend) is just too far away, like an hour away. So I tried a local guy in town, he gave both dogs a shot of something and it seemed to help both of them stop itching. Trapper, the foxhound will literally itch and bite until he hits bone. Almost bit off his tail one year, and couldn't figure out why.

Try a Cytopoint injection. My 13 year-old Jack Russell is highly allergic to flea bites and one Cytopoint injection every other month keeps all the itching at bay.

I've switched from topical flea and tick medicine like Frontline to tablets with lotilaner, but I cannot give you a brand that I think you have in your part of the world. Neither of our dogs, a stray whose breed-make up I have no clue on and a french bulldog, have had issues with the tablets and we haven't had flea or tick trouble while the medicine was in their bodies. I'm sorry your boys are still itchy and are now suffering from an allergic reaction :(

You can give dogs loratadine (commonly known as Claritin) for allergies and a few other conditions. We used to give half of one to our dog once a day when he'd get itchy. You could tell it was helping; he'd normally get really dandruff-y in the spring but the meds would make it go away.
