You can't complain that he doesn't play the "requests" note for note, because you have to understand, these are songs he's never heard, yet he still plays it from scratch, on the spot, no practice - and he actually does it pretty well. Not a lot of people can do that. I, myself, have been playing for a near two decades, and through those years I'd like to believe that I've relatively mastered playing by ear, but I'm humble enough to admit that I can't pull off something like that without prior practice. And seriously you gotta ask yourself as well, how can he be that good and not know Santana (or Iron Butterfly)? Which leads me to believe that this here is a true math player - he knows all the notes, the variables, the math - give him any equation, and he'll give you a solution (if I'm making any sense). That he may very well be a true player, a pure musician, who learned without exposure to these songs that have, well, more or less defined...music, ergo learning without limits. And he does it with true passion as well. He's way up there with Captain Beefheart. And I must say, at first glance at your videos, I was a bit skeptical, but now I am dumbfounded, and in true awe. Bravo, man. And the best part is, you're way too underappreciated in your own time - you're living the dream!
