It's so painfull to see how OM acted so selfish here. Not only did he leave all of the daycare work on his brother, but he left part of his homicide code, and therefor Bloodmoon and Eclipse in Sun on a 'maybe'. He wasn't a hundred percent sure that it won't cause any problems for *him* (not for Sun), but did it anyway. NM on the other hand tries to protect his family, albeit in a bad way right now. But he never wants to harm his siblings in such a way.

Poor Sun. He needs a big hug, a cup of something warm and nice to drink, and a blanket. He also needs his family restored back to being happy and everything is okay, but that's not as easy to manage. The flashback was so, *so* good. It only makes me miss the Old Moon more because he just had this fun energy to him that New Moon could not replicate. And again, if we bring him back *now,* he will be the *CHANGED* Moon who *doesn't* hurt Sun. And doesn't have a nauseating ego.

I hope to god they at least hold off on trying to bring old Moon back (as a last resort only), that they somehow find a way to actually _help_ Moon. They haven’t even really _tried._ The death of Solar is kind of the first real death Moon’s had to go through - he didn’t know Lunar before he died, so it didn’t really affect him, and even Earth’s death was temporary, only her body died so she just ended up with a new one. This is the first time someone he was close to _died in his arms,_ and he never really took the time to grieve. He went straight to trying to bring him back, to fix it, and just kind of tried to ignore the possibility that he might not come back. When he realised that, he spiralled. It may have been wrong morally, but _of course_ he wanted to kill Blood Moon/Ruin - he was just coming to terms with the fact he probably wasn’t going to be getting his brother back, that he couldn’t fix it after all, and decided to redirect his emotions onto the people who _hurt his family._ He may not have opened up to them and asked for help, but they didn’t try too hard to reach out to him either. They asked if he was okay, and when he said yes they just left it at that. When he started distancing himself from them to work on his plans, they didn’t really double check if he was okay, even when it was clear he wasn’t. I understand they were all grieving too, but they should have done it _together_ instead of leaving him to his own devices. Then when they realised what he was doing, they didn’t really try to help talk him out of it. They just kind of went “If you do this, we won’t be here for you anymore.” and didn’t bother to see his side of things and try to reason with him. He’s given up on himself because _they already gave up on him._ And Monty didn’t even _try,_ they just immediately resorted to “f*ck it, let’s just kill him and bring the old one back.” If Monty does go through with that plan, they’d better have a _very long_ conversation with Moon’s family before going through with it. I hope, not even for Moon’s sake but Sun’s that they try again instead of killing him, because Sun’s already lost Moon once, and _barely_ got through it. I genuinely don’t think he can take it again. Especially because he was broken up over the version of Moon who verbally and physically abused him, so just imagine how he’d feel losing the one who actually treated him as a brother, right from the start. He was borderline suicidal last time, so I can’t imagine it’d be any better this time around. Sure, Moon’s lost himself in grief and anger, but Sun was similar when he wanted to kill Eclipse. Why is it that they just tried to stop Sun, but as soon as Moon goes mad with the loss of a brother, it’s a death sentence? I am _so sorry_ to anyone who actually sat and read all of that. 😅😂

Not to mention the consequences it would have on people like Sun. Plus I feel like Monty’s biased in this decision seeing as they were best friends with old Moon, whereas they didn’t have that sort of connection with the current Moon. I think it’s less about how Moon’s acting, and more of an excuse to try to bring their friend back after he upset his sister/their girlfriend.

No, I totally agree with you to a T. This double standard of simply replacing Moon with OM is insane to me! I'm still open to the possibility to just unlock OM's memories to Moon so he gets a better sense of his past and entire being again. Over this whole situation I remember the episode 'I am my Monster' from Steven Universe Future where Steven also believed he is a terrible monster so he 'might as well just act like it' (Quoting Moon from last episode). In SU everyone came through the powerfull spech of Connie to the realization that this whole situation isn't about them hurting and licking their own wounds, but about Steven having a serious crisis. They stood up together, swallowed their hurt egos and decided to assure Steven that no matter what, they are a family and are there for him no matter what. And that they will always love him. Moon needs to come to the realization that he is never meant to be monster, like he believes, but to be a brother. And this can only happen through the love of his family. Moon is not a problem, he is a hurt, grieving, traumatized person with amnesia, depression and quite possibly ptsd. He still has to kill somebody in cold blood like Ruin or Bloodmoon did to classify as a villain. I mean, how often did he threaten to actually torture Ruin and never did? Or to kill Eclipse and yet he "just" broke two of his fingers? He is not a lost cause, he needs his family more. then. ever. ☀️❤️‍🩹🌙🫂🙏

Also, I can’t help but wonder, considering old Moon’s personality, how long before he loses his temper and yells at/hurts someone without a genuine reason? _How long before he says/does something to Sun that triggers the trauma that _*_he_*_ caused?_ It took Sun so long to get past all the verbal and _physical_ abuse old Moon subjected him to, and if they do bring old Moon back, it’s only a matter of time before he does something that will bring all of it back up to the surface. It’s like how all of Lunar’s trauma was brought back when Eclipse was revived by Ruin, but at least it wasn’t _the exact_ same person who hurt him, whereas it will be for Sun if they bring Moon back.

This is exactly how I feel, thank you for saying this, sure New Moon isn’t right, but this is kinda a swapped scenario/foil to Sun‘s Version in my opinion rather than what I usually see which was “Eclipse and Lunar”, New Moon isn’t repeating Eclipse’s mistakes, he’s more repeating Sun’s mistakes, and Sun is in fact handling it a little worse than Old Moon did to me, when Old Moon trapped Sun his last words to him were “I Love You Sun, And I’m Sorry” NOT “That’s Not My Brother Anymore” legit anyone can go look and see the difference, not saying Sun is at 100% fault and I’m not saying it’s not super hard on him but this is actually a thing that more points to Old Moon handling a tense situation better not the other way around and I find that rather interesting, this whole series was never a black or white morality, everyone has flaws, Sun has in the end just as much flaws as New Moon, the only difference is is New Moon has honestly had a finger pointed at him rather than have a hand extended to him like Sun had, and is honestly right to say he’s “The Villian” this time; because everyone has pretty much either given up on him or just wants to get rid of him. It both warms and breaks my heart to see their past selves.. Sun was so, much more happy back then.. more alive, and.. it hurts to look back at how happy he used to be, only to come back to the present and see just how broken he really is over this.. all of this.. not just Moon, but everything.. And seeing Moon acting like a total prick (but nowhere near as bad as now) and being a bit more lively too, hurts just as much.. and as funny as his comments about whacking sticks and chloroform were, again.. just knowing how he is right now, it hurts.. July 16th happened a year after they separated. In one of the old videos, the one where Blood Moon's origins were revealed, Eclipse said that it took a year to make him. Then the channel was started a year after that.

The entire show isn't planned out from the start except the basics. The rest, they are coming up with as they go, which subsequently can change past events to an extent.
