Spoiler alert! She suffered from PTSD but left her first born child, remarried a rich man, had another child yes she suffered but her Son suffered more because she BLAMED him for his baby sister's death and further abused. Couldn't the writers at the very least let her make a sincere Apology to his face! She never even said the words. This a good series but ticks me off that she did not show TRUE sincerity as his mother.

I love the fact that he was willing to protect her without being concerned about himself. His mother was manipulating and arrogant. She didn’t like the girl because she felt guilty that the girl knew of her abandoned relationship and the son loved the girl for loving him. 😢

I love this drama, but have to give it 7/10 because they did the ending abruptly. Out of the 40 episodes, they should have done 10 with the young kids, 10 with them as teenagers and the rest as it is with a full proper ending. But even though I only rate it 7/10, I still watch it over and over again. This mother was one of the worst mothers, she is vicious, hateful and just plain evil who mentally ab*sed her son his entire life.

Totally agree with you... It's as if they toyed with the idea of a season 2 but didn't follow through so had to quickly wrap things up.... I am so annoyed the mother was afforded a "nice" ending, in that she was forgiven so effortlessly by Ling Xiao... There was no accountability for her years of manipulative torture meted out to her son, and daughter on a lesser basis.

i love this tv show. I dont like why the mother was not forced to take responsibility for the death of her daughter. She left her son, who was like 5 or 6 years, locked up with his sister.
