This could have been such an amazing story. Should’ve made them find out they were married to each other earlier and could’ve then brought in some drama to allow them to work together to showcase their individual strengths and strengths as a couple. This is a good one!! Although there are some unbelievable situations, the story as a whole is sweet, it has no toxic people (except the really, really evil mother). One of the most attractive pairings I have seen in a long time. The one thing that has consistently bothered me about this particular play is the flimsy excuse for turning against his unseen wife that the husband has. He has no idea where she is or what is happening around her, but he immediately jumps to the conclusion she is cheating on him. At least in other versions he actually sees a man in the house, but I find his reaction cowardly and distinctly melodramatic. Even after they do get together, it leaves a bad aftertaste.
