Sometimes it's easy to forget how long a history certain companies have here in the US.. "...chaos that I do associate with the feeling and experience of shopping." That's how I'd describe it too. Not the biggest fan of shopping. 😅 I appreciate how much detail can be discerned despite the loose brushwork and wonder what a fine version of this would've looked like.

Very interesting, but I think you're reading more into this painting than the artist gave it, specifically the commentary abou factory work and women's suffrage.

It looks almost pious as the eyes are focused on the shoes and the heads are bowed and the hands clasped in what resembles worship.
