Hello Wayne, it is all marshland (knee to waist deep mud below the grass). The channels were made to control the mosquito population by allowing the salt water from the Atlantic Ocean to move in and out with each tide and prevent the bugs to lay eggs in stagnant pools of water. We call it Mosquitoes Alley🤪
