Forreal. When I was 16 my friends and I hung out with 21-23+ year olds. My friend even dated one of them. We hung out, partied, and slept over at their house ALL THE TIME. We thought it was so cool and completely normal at the time. Thinking back as a 20 year old, then 24, now 27, I would never want to hang out with 16 year olds let alone even 18 year olds. Honestly even really anyone under 24 I probably wouldn’t want to hang out with. It would just feel weird to me. But ESPECIALLY under 21 would be extra weird. As someone who meet their girlfriend when I was 17 and she was 35 I can say....the moment I turned 18 I was not an adult, and certainly not an adult with the life experience that would have counted up to her being 36. Looking back decades later it was really effed up and did some damage. You can not tell me that just because someone turns 18 they have the same experiences and standards that someone with over 30 has. Sure, the law sees you as an adult, but you do not have the experiences that someone over 20 or 30 has. When I was 36 and looked at 18 years old I was simply thinking "Wow, they are like..kids, what did my GF think at that time?" It is not a healthy relationship.
