Being a good teacher is somebody that teaches correct information, pulling from sources of information, rather than forming an opinion and spewing it out harming anybody in the community that has information that might be conflicting. He calls Torb a support, you are only allowed to do this in a world where Soldier is a support, period. He's got some points based in fact, but he fails to understand the basic triangle of support. This video will be used as ammo to tear down Symmetra players, creating a witchhunt. This content creator has a history of incorrectly spreading information based on his emotions, and not looking for facts. Blizzard lists how many supports? That's how many supports there is. No more, no less. Thinking anything other than this proves that you do not understand what a support is.

I find torb really fun to play. He works great on eichenwalde and Anubis defense. Tip 1: In general I like to put his turret so it barely peeks the main entrance. BUT if flankers are a problem then it's important to make sure the turret can't see the main entrance. It will keep firing at a target until it is killed or goes out of sight so you don't want it firing at a rein shield while tracer casually walks up to it and destroys it. Tip 2: I still see torbs trying to upgrade their turrets during combat. Even if there is a more optimal place for your turret or if it's been destroyed, you need to be fighting, shot gunning, and throwing armor during brawls. Never be hitting a level 1 turret. Tip 3: if your enemy has a dva or sombra make sure you put the turret in a place that is unlikely to be hit by their ult.

Sombra is very much a secondary healer. She's very good when paired with more mobile heroes (Tracer, Genji, D.Va, etc.) who can access the heal packs and charge her ult very quickly.

When to pick supports, tanks and Torbjorn at high level of competitive play: Lucio should be picked everywhere 100% of the time with exception of first point Numbani defense and Hanamura defense. Ana should always be picked in every single composition outside of dive comp (in dive comp you can pick mercy or zen instead). Mercy can be picked to pocket heal and damage boost Pharah (good in 3 DPS dive comp). Don't blame me Mercy mains, i know your experience of surviving 2 flankers and Winston jumping on you. Zenyatta can be picked instead of Ana when you use dive comp and can't make successful push on attack without discord orb. Torbjorn can be used instead of Lucio at first point Numbani defense and Hanamura defense (good against dive). Symmetra can be picked instead of Lucio at first point defense and first half of Dorado defense against deathball comp. Its risky, but 75 additional hp allows full hold. Sombra and Soldier 76 have unreliable healing and no hp buffs so they don't count as supports. About tanks: Deathball (when your team has 0 or 1 flankers): Pick Reinhardt, then pick Zarya for graviton surge or D.VA for defense matrix (good against enemies on highground) and you can pick Roadhog as tanky DPS. Dive (when your team has 2 flankers): Always pick Winston as tank in dive comp.. D.VA can be useful in dive too as off-tank.

Running triple support is always a bad idea, in fact if you were cutting teams down to 5v5 support would get cut down to a solo position. This includes running a second "healer" support because you have a Symmetra. However, neither Sombra or Torb can support very well, in fact they're DPS heroes. If Torb is a support, Soldier is a support, it's as easy as that.

I may be a bit bias here but lucio is one of if not the best healer. Not only can he provide heals almost equal to mercy with amp heals, but he has the highest healing output, with the help of anas nade with amped heals. I tested this out and with 1 amp and nade he can fully heal a hog. Of course you still need another healer, but with good dps and high mobility, lucio can almost teleport across maps if the player is good with wallrides. Amazing video Skyline, and I must say that lucio and ana are the best combo.

ana and lucio are really useful for payload. the payload gives you healing, lucio gives you healing and with ana's biotic grenade, simply staying on the payload (which is the point of the game) will give you an insane amount of constant healing.... on attack

I feel like it's better to think of sym as a utility support when paired with allot of self sustain tanks since she gives them the space to heal themselves and stops rush downs of the point. the teleporter also has the best value when with tanks and functions as a wonky heal. (heals them all at once) but think of her as an offtank when paired with less tanks. she still denies area, but can do decent job tanking with her floating shield. Then when she gets her shield generator up, she is adding a total of 450 extra health to the team with that alone. This drastically increases the effective HP of the team which is the main goal of tanks.

Ana and Lucio, to me, is the combo that works the best. If you throw on that grenade, everyone in the aura is getting zen level leals, and then you can keep firing away.

I´ve thought a bit about your video, and I´ve come to the conclusion it's wrong about Zenyatta and to a lesser extent Ana. Zenyatta is a tank buster. As many have pointed out he is good at offense for this reason, but also at defense if you are holding a chokepoint. He is weak to flankers, which are common on attack but uncommon on defense, making him overall better on offense. The main thing holding him back is his lack of mobility. He therefore, like Ana, works well with Lucio, who can offset this flaw and make him great on offense, but, like you said, this combo doesn´t have a main healer which is generally a bad thing. What flankers in effekt do is split up your team. In other words, Zenyatta is weak to getting split up because he has no mobility tools to get to safety if he gets jumped out of position by multiple people. In other words, the second your team gets split up, Zenyatta is in great risk of being the first to die. The same is true for Ana, who has no mobility tools and therefore is very weak if alone. If these supports are on their own they don´t compliment eachother like you said. Insteed they get even more weak as something like a combination of winston and tracer together can jump them both and kill one of them without the other being able to do anything. Both Ana and Zenyatta need to use their team for protection, and in a spread out fight, they are really weak. Contrast this with Mercy or Lucio, both have great movement tools to get out of sticky situations. It is not uncommon for a Mercy player to jump from teammate to teammate in the thick of a unruly fight if jumped by a flanker.The idea of spread out fight = long sightlines is wrong. The second the fight gets unorgansied people will duck out of line of sight to find safety or try to follow up on a kill behind a corner somewhere. Zenyatta and Ana is good when their team controls a large space infront of them. On offense, this could be a winston jumping in with a bubble, making sapce for your team. On defense, this could mean a reinhardt standing at the choke while Ana and Zenyatta stands back overlooking the fight. This is most likely what you refered to with Zenyatta and Ana liking to "stand back and supporting their team". However, just from the reasons I´ve outlined above, it´s clear that they have a major flaw as a duo. The video goes on to describe Ana/Zenyatta as combination on the same level as Mercy/Lucio. I don´t know if this was intentional or not, but I wanted to highlight how stupid it is, especially on defense. Anas ultimate is all about initation into the enemy team. Zenyatta kit has no way of supporting this playstyle without a Lucio. If you have a team that is simply holding the choke on defense, it makes very little sense to have powerful initiation characters like Winston or Genji just for the nanoblade. Therefore it will be very hard to get anything out of Anas ultimate, as it normally does very little on its own. Typically on defense, defensive ultimates are more valueble (big suprise) and Zenyattas ult is subpar at best. Being down both soundbarrier and ressurect means that your defensive team will loose almost any teamfight the enemy is able to choose on their terms. Can you see the problem yet with Ana/Zenyatta on defense? In order to not get wiped by an enemy initiation this duo requires you initiation the fight as a defender, which is not something you typically is equiped to do if you are playing slow tank & firepower heavy team that tries to control choke points. Nor is how such team will fail. Sooner or later the attackers will find an opening and a key player on your team will die, like the ana or bastion etc. Neither Anas nor Zenyattas ult scan be used to stop this. These healers also have horrible overlap in the way they heal targets. Both healers tend to stay at the same place, which means they normally are in line of sight on the same targets. In a lot of the time, this simply means that they are overhealing all targets within range, while unable to save teammates out of position on the frontline. Here is a list of healing combinations that makes sense: Mercy + Nothing else. Mercy is the only character that should solo heal. She is the only character with "big heals" and a defensive ultimate. It´s a risky strategy, as the team loses all healing and a potentally gamechanging ultimate if she dies, but i can be worth it to free up a slot of another character to deal with a key threat. On first point defense, if you have a generic set of offense characters while running a Symmetra, having only a Mercy is most likely the best choice to be able to have enough frontline power to not get overwhelmed right away. Only having Mercy as support is very risky on control maps, as flankers are too strong there and safety is hard to come by. Lucio + Nothing else. Good for quickplay when people are just running around looking for kills and can sometimes be used on King of the Hill style maps if your team has a lot of self healing such as a soldier, roadhog, etc or characters like Tracer, who normally don´t need much healing. Sucks otherwise. Best on control maps. Lucio + Zenyatta. Dive comps, mainly on offense. Good with the same types of comps as only Lucio. Should normally be avoided on defense, but should also quickly be changed if it isn´t working. Best on control maps. Lucio + Ana. Balanced duo, but requires a lot of skill on part of the Ana. Not recommended below diamond in most cases. Won´t go into detail here, everyone knows how good this duo is at pro level. Best on offense, but also on defense if the team has a lot of tanks. Lucio + Mercy. Balanced duo, Lucio takes a lot of healing pressure off the Mercy, who is both safer and needs to take less risks to top off the team. The Mercy can hide slightly without the team losing all healing output during a fight. Good on both offense and defense, but bad on some control maps were Mercy have trouble getting quality resses were people tend die all over the place. Mercy + Zenyatta. Same as only Mercy. The advantage of having the Zenyatta is that the Mercy need to take less risks to healing targets far away on the frontline and there is a lower risk the team will take more damage than is possible to heal. However, the combo is still basically the same as only having a Mercy for a healer. If she dies to a flanker before getting a ress off, it´s most likely a loss. Personally I like this duo on defense as part of a chokepoint spammy strategy with a bastion, junkrat and or mei. Mercy + Ana. This duo the video gets spot on. This duo works great in tank-heavy comps, with one a key damage dealer such as Pharah, Bastion or even Soldier. This type of team works on all modes, as long as you have the right comp for it. If I had to choose, I would say it works best on defense, were you don´t need initiation and can use the duo in a strategy that simply tries to outlast the enemy with spam through chokepoints and the like. Mercy vs Ana can be viewed as Tank Healer vs General Healer. If you are unsure, just think about the potential value of the following: Ressurect vs. Sleep dart & Granade (both offense and defensive uses) If you think you can have more impact over the course of the game with granades and sleeps, go Ana, otherwise pick Mercy and try to get some great resses off. Both strategies can win you the game in the end.

Well, she kinda is, though :P People has to stop thinking of heroes as 100% dps, sup or tank. Like, a Mei is maybe 75% dps, 25% tank imo. A Roadhog is 75% tank, 25% dps, etc. etc. For instance something like Sym, Road, Rein, Zen, Ana and Soldier is a great comp in many situations, imo (although you could do solo heal with that amount of self-heal).

Yes she's not a healer but she provides utility to replace one. Most of your healing comes from your ana or mercy anyway, Symm replaces the 2ndary healers like Lucio. Symmetra doesn't do enough as a dps to take one of their slots. This especially works if you have self sufficient heros like Soldier and hog. Having a Lucio, Mercy and Symm for example is basically half your team who aren't making enough of a direct impact in a lot of fights. (Though the new lucio is better for this) So in my opinion it's not ideal to have symm with 2 healers, but obviously it can work

i do love most of your ideas here, though i do criticize your thoughts on zenyatta. i am zenyatta main, and i have always found myself most useful right behind my team, providing healing, but mostly damage. zenyatta is a powerful foe capable of quite a lot of damage. plus, lwts not forget his most useful and amazing ability, transcendance. with that, you need to be in the fight so you can judge for yourself when to create a moment of push. he is not a range enemy, he is an up close fighting support.

People usually say he is a defense hero, but they don't put Hanzo, Widow, Bastion, or even Mei in that category in their heads, but they make their own category for Torb, where he sits alone, maybe because they think since he doesn't heal he has no place in the support category.

Instead of binding her glide to the jump button and alternate fire, how about they take it off the jump and leave it on alt fire, and give her a new ability whiles she air borne like Angelic Thrust, Guardian Rise or something like that that will thrust her into the air and is an escape move if her teammates are compromised and she can't Guardian Angel to them. I think this would be good as: 1. When she's gliding with jump, you cannot aim (at least on console) as your thumb is occupied already and you can't apply pressure with your Caduceus Blaster (as I find the slow travel speed good for scaring them from its high base damage) and makes her an easy pick for a competent enemy DPS, so it's really ineffective to use jump. 2. Her tool set is fairly limited as her only real ability is Guardian Angel and I suppose Resurrect as when Sombra hacks they're the only things disabled, and I feel like there's room for another ability. 3. As she is such a high priority target because of Resurrect I think it's only fair as Genjis, Tracers and the like can take her out with ease and I think she should be able to escape if compromised. This would make Mercy better in my opinion as she could deal with the enemy harassing her when her teammates bate and give her a good escape option when compromised, and it's kinda fair as the other healers have compromise (Boop, Bio Nade/Sleep Dart, Discord) abilities. It could have a considerable cool down like 7-9s, let me know what you think.

Interestingly enough, I went on Overbuff.com and saw that players average ~2,000 more healing per game with Lucio than Ana...so wouldn't that make Lucio a big healer and Ana a small one? Really good video man...I'm just curious about that one bit, and if there's an explanation behind that. Keep up the good work.

I usually use Ana when there's more than one tank and on attack, I default Mercy for defense mainly for resurrection.

For a while there (aprox. 5:20-6:15) you show Ana + Lucio on the screen but never talk about them as either a good or bad combo. Given how commonly they are paired together in the current meta and given the upcoming changes for Lucio, I'd really like to hear your opinion on that combo. Any chance you could expand on that?

I like playing mercy a lot, I have a ridiculously disproportionate amount of hours playing her compared to all other heroes. Part of the problem is that I am in bronze and let's face it, like 10% of bronze players want to play support. Even less want to play mercy. I've basically been given a free ride to main her. Recently I've been trying to branch out to Ana, I am trying to pick her instead of mercy in the maps you said she would be best in. At least in qp.

Something I hate about ps4's overwatch is that nobody ever picks healing, not in quick and not in ranked. Well, I was bronze last season so maybe that's why, but it really bothers me. I try to be a healer most of the time, but I'm good-ish only with Zenyatta and he alone can't sustain the team. I'm thinking about learning to play Mercy, but on ps it's a nightmare, the commands are not intuitive at all, I struggle a lot to just switch between the shaft and the pistol. Anyway, this video was great! I'll try best as I can to heal next time (because I know I will have to haha)
