Do you have to let the cutting you tipped grow so much before tipping? I've noticed some people do let them get some length first. Does it matter? Thanks.

U want fruit? Then don’t let new growth come out

Is there any particular season you recommend tipping? Also I have one that’s now grown more than 1ft and is already resting over the trellis, would you still recommend tipping this one?
