There are magical things in the weaving world called, "replacement heddles" or "repair heddles". They are heddles that you can snap into place on any shaft you need. And while you probably won't need them with every project, I can guarantee they will come in very handy at some point!
In today's episode, I'm talking you through the scenarios where a few replacement heddles will absolutely do the trick versus when you may as well re-thread your project.
If you aren't familiar with creating your own replacement heddles, I have just the episode for you. Wander back to episode 58 where I show you how I make my own - • The Repair Heddle
The doors are closing! The registration window for the January 2025 Dress Your Loom Class will close on Thursday, January 16 at 4 pm CST. So if you're ready to learn how to weave and adopt an easy method for dressing your loom, now is the time! chris-acton.my...

I’ve tied replacement heddles to the shafts but I will start using the safety pin ends as they will be easier to use and also portable as needed. Thanks for the tip.

I always feel a profound sense of personal failure when I find a mistake 😁. I have to correct it, but thank goodness for emergency heddles and weights to hang off the back of the loom!

@@robertrobert5583 Oh no! My friend, it's just weaving! You are allowed and expected to make some mistakes - please don't be hard on yourself!

Since my heddles are thin metal, I have a metal clipper and I *clip, clip* and use them where I need them and believe it or not, I have had to remove weird double threads...now how did THAT happen? LOL Lots of weirdness can be adjusted or 'fixed' and you what, I ain't above pitching the whole plan...I have even removed warps from my floor loom and used them on my rigid heddle. At first I kick myself but...the whole process just calms me to my soul...my loom room is my happy place :)
