Charles Oliveira da Silva[1] (born October 17, 1989) is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist and Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner.[6] He currently competes in the Lightweight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he is a former UFC Lightweight Champion. Oliveira holds multiple UFC records, notably the most submission wins in the organization's history at 16, and most finishes at 19. As of August 22, 2022, he is #1 in the UFC lightweight rankings and #3 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings.
Islam Ramazanovich Makhachev is a Russian professional mixed martial artist and former Sambo competitor. He currently competes in the Lightweight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Makhachev was the combat sambo world champion at 74 kilograms in 2016. As of May 9, 2022, he is #4 in the UFC lightweight rankings.

People hating on Khabib because he's the one who push the fight. Remember that Khabib was struggling to get the title fight as well. The problem was he didn't have any good connection or 'star' status like Connor had. He had to do it all by himself. Now that he's a coach and his name himself hold that much weight, of course he want to push Islam because he doesn't want the same thing happen to him

Good video, the wrong title. Change it to "when trash talk goes wrong in the UFC". When he said" I'm chosen by God", "I'll call Khabib out of retirement", "I'll knock Islam out in the 1st round and it will be the greatest KO I''ve ever seen", "I will prove them wrong because they disrespected me", "their arrogance will be their downfall", "Islam has the title shot thanks to Khabib", "he's surving a wave that isn't his", "Khabib's team feels pressured" and so on. And none of this was true, was just trashtalk without evidence.

This wasn't even trash talk. This was a masterclass of what MMA is. The accuracy of the standup from a fighter regarded to have trash Muay Thai, the wrestling which apparently Oliveira was supposed to be capable of handling and most importantly, the proof that if Sambo was easy it would indeed be called Jui-Juitsu.

The fact that ppl were discrediting Islam was funny, he won the title for 11 win streak, even Charles Oliveira didn't have to do that, everybody was dodging him, he struggled to find a fight.. which is the exact same reason why it took khabib so many years to get his title defense. The fight was clean, and they fulfilled the prophecy, finish in round 2 as khabib said .

Charles learned his lesson. Be humble , never look down/mock other fighters. He even said he's going to kill Makhachev inside the cage. This is respectable sport. Not a prison fight. Jujitsu is all about discipline, respect. Makhachev made him look like an amateur. 🥺

What made this fight matter to me was how people tried to use this to attack khabib’s legacy. Saying that he’s not the real goat and that he was running away from Charles Oliviera. I felt that was disrespectful and now everyone is humbled
