I don't understand why so many people imply that martial arts are about honor, if you study history they used the same arguments with the code of Chivalry, knights were people that killed for the profit and power lust of their lord, made good money with it and oppressed the population who they treated like cattle, yet supposedly they were all about being good Christians, nobility, defending the weak, generosity, etc. when being a knight was merely about fighting and doing whatever your lord tells you to do. In martial arts I get the same feeling, people are not hitting a heavy bag to practice honor, kindness and respect, you see all the time people who practice martial arts being disrespectful, belligerent, bullies that know they can get away with it because they know how to fight, you even see plenty of it anywhere where martial arts are practised and even the teachers do it sometimes, like for example how Dana White talked about how he joined a boxing gym to learn how to box, they made him clean for weeks and not taught him anything and when he asked to be taught how to box they made him box against some dude that knew what he was doing and the dude beat the shit out of Dana for daring to ask to be taught how to box. It's such a stupid thing to try to imply martial arts are about honor and respect when you see the complete opposite everywhere including in gyms, martial arts about learning how to fight, honor and respect is in no way a necessary component of it just like with knights in the past, for me it just sounds like a big cope by people who like martial arts to try to exclude violent people from practicioners of their martial art by saying "he is not a real martial artists, he is a violent person" , imagine if we had the same idea with guns and claimed that going to the range was all about honor, respect and discipline when in reality it's about learning how to use your gun to defend yourself, and when a person was violent with his gun we claimed he is not a real gun owner because he was violent with his gun.
@Hari-kx2er Жыл бұрын
@@382u3uuej If you actually join a traditional Kungfu or Karate course, you learn that martial art is not about bullying or pointless violence but about learning practical self defence as well as building a healthy body and mind. Most of what you described is the tarnishing of martial arts in modern day UFC championship.

Ah,he brought so much entertainment in a difficult decade,that a lot of us Irish MMA fans will forgive him for a lot,plus Khabib is no angel,but people whitewash his flaws. Conor has three big problems 1: Irish athletes drop off a cliff after 30,dunno what it is,but our legs give in way quicker than most 2: He has a serious addiction to substances 3: He has no one around him to say "stop" or "no" Think every Irish person knows a Conor like character,great company on his own,a bit of a dick in a group,but an absolute nightmare when pissed out of his head.

@@colloquialsoliloquy6391 Not gonna lie, you have a pretty fuckin dope family there. Unfortunately I'm the only one who enjoys this sport, and I didn't get the chance to witness Ali and Mike in their prime. I'm just thankful both Conor and Khabib put up a great show for all of us. All that trash talk, and with everything that happened with their teams. It all came down to this very fight. Somehow, I felt like Conor needed this loss, even though I was betting on him. Connor is a shining example of someone that let a boosted career and early success go to his head. What's really sad is that he was a good fighter. Had he been humbled sooner (as opposed to being boosted by UFC to promote ratings), he would probably have developed more as a fighter and had a stellar career.

Guy is a tool but he in fact has a stellar career...hence why you are speaking his name.
