He didn't want to waste energy in a slanging match and thought that by not reponding much, he'd not give Fury much to say. This is why Wilder said nothing in the press conference and did not engage at all. Fury always walks a tightrope of insanity and genius. Tyson is actually very smart. You can tell he is a quick thinker from how he talks. He responds and reacts rapidly, coherently is calm and effectively ruthless! This no doubt also informs how he fights. The strongest most important muscle in the body when fighting is the brain 🧠, and his can work pretty well!!!

Would've loved to have seen this fight: Haye had a few miles on the clock but was still pretty fast, he looked sharp in sparring Wilder and Hrgovic for this fight. Fury, as skilled as he is, by his own admission was trying to win with this macho style of boxing at the time, which involved walking fighters down and using just his size and strength to beat them. It would've been a genuinely compelling fight.

Looking back now after we've seen Haye's body fall apart and Fury rise to the top it's easy to say that but Haye definitely had a decent chance. I would have Fury as the favourite but it's no mismatch. Fury has a low output and Haye had the speed to avoid punches coming his way so a lot of the rounds could've been close with neither man landing much. Haye definitely had the power to drop Fury and a knockdown or 2 would give him an edge if it went to decision (which it almost definitely would).

@@SychoSam usyk has nothing like the miles that haye had though. Usyk still looked extremely fast against chisora. Usyk could only beat Joshua on points by stealing rounds with better boxing but he has Joshua's reach and that uppercut is always there if he gets inside which he is going to have to do. Having said all that I believe haye beats usyk in his prime. And let's be fair to haye he made chisora the best he has ever been and his enthusiasm for the sport is great to see.
