Would've loved to have seen this fight: Haye had a few miles on the clock but was still pretty fast, he looked sharp in sparring Wilder and Hrgovic for this fight. Fury, as skilled as he is, by his own admission was trying to win with this macho style of boxing at the time, which involved walking fighters down and using just his size and strength to beat them. It would've been a genuinely compelling fight.

Looking back now after we've seen Haye's body fall apart and Fury rise to the top it's easy to say that but Haye definitely had a decent chance. I would have Fury as the favourite but it's no mismatch. Fury has a low output and Haye had the speed to avoid punches coming his way so a lot of the rounds could've been close with neither man landing much. Haye definitely had the power to drop Fury and a knockdown or 2 would give him an edge if it went to decision (which it almost definitely would).

It's easy to poke fun at haye but as a cruiser weight he was devastating and one of the most exciting fighters ever. But even at this stage he had to many miles on the clock. He demolished his body in training and in sparring and his fights were at such a pace. A bit like mike tyson, the explosive fast style burns you out quick. Should have retired at 30

@@sagelight7777 same with Usyk. People think he can go against AJ like he did when he fought Joyce but Usyk was in his mid 20s back then. Now he's 34 and gained at least 30 pounds since then

@@SychoSam usyk has nothing like the miles that haye had though. Usyk still looked extremely fast against chisora. Usyk could only beat Joshua on points by stealing rounds with better boxing but he has Joshua's reach and that uppercut is always there if he gets inside which he is going to have to do. Having said all that I believe haye beats usyk in his prime. And let's be fair to haye he made chisora the best he has ever been and his enthusiasm for the sport is great to see. Haye always new how to manipulate things and sell a fight.

No I think fury had been pretty lackluster up to this point i think he thought he would win. Fury had levels in the tank we had no idea he had. The performance against wlad was a coming of age fight. How he is now is just worlds away from back then. If he had fought have he would have smashed him eventually.
